Kiss (Nude tour) - Japan In my opinion this is the best version of kiss out there (miles better than the studio version from Parade) it's from the Nude tour in Japan! From 1990. It's just amazing!!! Like the stage is just buzzing and the rhythm guitar and keyboard synthesisers in sync just sound absolutely stunning together and the backing vocals by Rosie just make it the best version ever! Also I don't think Prince looked any cooler then he did on the Nude tour! [Edited 12/23/18 16:27pm]

I prefer without any doubt the extended version played during the Parade era. "Money won't buy U happiness but it'll pay 4 the search."

The studio version is ranked number 464 on the Rolling Stone list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. NME ranked the song number 4 in their list of The 150 Greatest Singles of All Time. The same magazine voted "Kiss" the best single of the year 1986.
It was a number-one hit worldwide, holding the number-one spot of the US Billboard Hot 100 chart for two weeks. The single was certified Gold in 1986 for sales of 1,000,000 copies by the RIAA.
i prefer the 3:46 masterpiece of 1986.

Nothing beats the studio version. Though, my favourite live version is probably the piano rendition from the Piano and Mic tour. It captures the spareness of the original and still bounces with frantic energy. Hundalasiliah!

It's not as good as the studio version. You can't replicate that cold funk of the recording in a live setting. It's a damn studio masterpiece. I got two sides... and they're both friends.

That version is my favorite live version of "When Doves Cry". As far as I'm concerned, it's the only time it was done justice in a live setting.

2000 Northrop Mn State. He played the rhythm on his George Benson guitar. That was the best version I’ve heard.

Wasn't the studio version of "Kiss" recorded in the studio at the Purple House on Kiowa Trail? Or have I forgotten everything already this year?? Good morning children...take a look out your window, the world is falling...

The original recording of "Kiss" (and it's 12") is a masterpiece and could still cut it on commercial radio today imo. Timeless, eternal and from his most stylish album.

Well, I know I read that somewhere, but all the info you get is not always true. So, Sunset for the music....now how about where the video was shot? Good morning children...take a look out your window, the world is falling...
