From Princevault.com:

Adonis & Bathsheba is an unreleased track recorded on 27 July 1986 at Prince's Galpin Blvd Home Studio (the day after The Ball, three days before the release of a 12" single of Anotherloverholenyohead).

And, in Susan Roger’s opinion, the worst song he ever recorded smile
.
I personally love it, my only small complaint being how much Prince’s drumming speeds up over the track. Should have taken his own advice to Morris - ‘Don’t get excited’.
PIPS! Eurgh...

One of his absolute worst and an early example of the schmaltz he would fall back on time and again later on.

A shining example of how eclectic Prince was with his song compositions. There is no other artist in the history of music that could write a song like this, and have written songs like "Purple Rain," "Power Fantastic," and "Sexy MF" too.

The way he bends the rather simple/silly lyrics into a melodic overture is truly amazing. Pure Prince no one else could get away with this, let alone dare to attempt it.

lol that's right, you can definitely tell he couldn't be arsed with this one and thought hmmm maybe I'll fall back on some schmaltz, see how that goes, if it works I can always do that again later on.

I love it. It's dreamy and lush and gorgeous and perfect. biggrin

Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I love the song, but it took me a while get past the feeling the tape was stretching or something, like it was about to pop or melt

The core reason why I love the lil man. And let's not forget he's probably the greatest performer to ever grace the stage, Ridiculous..
