Cool quote made me think of Prince I knew this about Prince, but like the way this man said it. It reminds me of P talking about transcendence. Some people think he was lonely when playing music alone in the middle of the night and “going to that place”. I don’t think so. “All true artists, whether they know it or not, create from a place of no-mind, of inner stillness.” - Eckhart Tolle Can any artists or even non-artists please elaborate on what this “place” is like, and what it takes to get there?

in my humble words it's like a place beyond time and space, a void I guess. Prince once described it in the Rolling Stone interview when he said his cook would come in when he was working and he said it was like she was in another time and how people think that's not having a heart. I knew what he was talking about. But really, the buzz that a truly great song has can take you to the same place, i only say it's "beyond time or space" because that's what it feels like, like the whole universe is opening up.

also, i don't think it's much different from spiritual experiences really.

Very nice! That reminds me as well of him. I recall him saying in an interview about the P&M shows that it was like an out of body experience. Like he was watching himself from the outside.

ya, the pianist rubinstein's son said something once about how big an ego his dad had but how it all went away when he played. It's akin to the line in immortal beloved where the lady forgave beethoven because of the beauty of his music over the cruelty of his behavior. For me, it's like entering an alternate reality, i don't like being around people because they try to pull you back into the world and they also misinterpret where you're heads at, hence prince's statement of not having a heart, I can imagine he spent most of his life like that. I can't afford to right now, wish I could.
