Will we ever hear new music while it's new? ...and before you mention Tidal, that idea has gone predictably quiet.
Anyway, not to add to the "we need new music" bandwagon (like anyone cares or is gonna listen). Still, it got me thinking. It would be great to hear fully completed tracks made by Prince in the last few years of his life...thus making them feel relatively fresh to our ears; and give us a sense of being in the now...if only for one more time. Ok, they still might come out eventually but then, by definition, will be historical.
Also, does anybody have a convincing argument for why the estate released piano tracks from 30 years ago, instead of piano tracks from 2016? Yunno, from Prince's last tour that subsequently became globally reconized? I still haven't worked that one out.

The Piano & Mic album was a very strange decision, when we know a live album exists from the actual P&M tour. Decisions like this really call into question the competance of the people making these decisions. Would be great to have the last projects Prince was working on, the rumoured NPG album, the sophomore album with 3rdEyeGirl (if it was ever finished?), Black Is The New Black, HitNRun Phase 3... anything from his last years would be a real treat. That project isn't due until 2019, so it's not very surprising that it's quiet for now. RIP

I completely agree, that last buzz - as if he were here. Black is the new black or free urself (remember the cover he put up with blule artwork hinting at an album). As for tidal, yes it is due next year but I’d half hoped as soon as the Warners bootleg was released they would be promoting and dropping hints about, hell, maybe even a single for Christmas. Tumbleweed is rolling by whilst, well, I don’t know what - some badly made t-shirts and weird looking fucking dolls? I’m glad they’re protecting his legacy. Comin str8 outta Preston...

[Edited 12/4/18 0:45am] I agree it was a strange decision to release P&M1983 and it's not that great album either. I haven't listened to it for over 2 months now and I knew this would happen. We need more interesting releases in the next few years like the 10 unreleased albums from 2010 - 2014. [Edited 12/4/18 9:28am] Welcome 2 The Dawn
