Is it me or has the amount of new threads radically slowed down in the past few months? After Prince died it felt like the whole internet came to the Org to the point that it had become ridiculously overcrowded, and now it feels like there's only a few of us left. IDK, in 17 years I've been here it never looked so calm to me. But that's a perception, IDK if you mods have access to stats of any kind. No mention of this on Pvault http://princevault.com/in...Children_2 But that story rings a bell, though. You remember the source? He's mixing two stories together. There's the Rainbow Children 2 project then there was a different project called George Benson & Friends - Sing Praises to Jehovah that Prince allegedly contributed to. The latter actually leaked 9 years ago but I've never been able to find a live link. The song numbers which that file contains are 181, 159, 115, 89, 81, 54, 37, 35, and 13. (Notice: There are few songs which George Benson has sung. That is, No.35 and No.54) Here's a comment that was made in 2005 about the project. I have come across these songs as well. The story that I heard on them is that they were recorded approximately four years ago at the request of the Society. All of the people involved with the recordings were JWs. Then, after they were recorded, the Society could not reach a unanimous vote to release them, so the project was put aside. Since they never released the recordings, all copies are "unauthorized." Celine Dion was not involved, but rather the female voice is that of Sister Lafond. Some of the names involved are: Benson, Graham, Ingram, Lafond, Hutchins, Colello, Kavelin, and Baker. I've also heard another song that is solo guitar. This is not from the same group of people - but it does sound remarkably similar to Prince's style. Official warning from KM to not partake in bootlegs A number of publishers have telephoned the branch office regarding certain recordings of Kingdom songs sung in a popular style that are presently being circulated among Jehovah's Witnesses. They wonder if these recordings have the organization's approval. We are aware of these recordings and would like to inform you that they do not have our approval. Please do not circulate or download these recordings from the Internet. We trust this information will clarify matters.

Yeah! I want to play. What if Prince's life was fdifferent without Mayte Garcia! I think Prince's music career would not had been fading away if she was not presence.

That's an interesting one. . Let's imagine that Mayte's mom didn't give Prince's dancer the tape. No Mayte on the D&P tour. A different version of The Love Symbol Album without the middle eastern flavor or Egyptian princess angle. No mildly successful single with 7. No salary bump for the band or giant wastes of time/money like the NPG Dance Company. Name change and disintegration of the WB relationship probably still would've happened. So let's pretend that Come, The Gold Experience and C&D were relatively unchanged. . Who knows what Emancipation would've turned into without the marriage to Mayte or her pregnancy. Would Prince have married Nona Gaye and tried to have a baby with her or would she have been kept in the Jill Jones sidechick role? It's hard to imagine the Emancipation era with Nona or some other girl as the muse and them successfully having a child. Would it have slowed him down? Would he still have tried to do projects like Happy Tears? Would there still be a religious awakening without the tragedy and desire to control Mayte? I'd imagine there would still be a divorce or two in his future since he didn't play well with others for long. . Beyond that, I think his music career wouldn't have been that different. Prince didn't seem to want a protege or wife that was equal to him in talent or life experience. and WB free Prince was still lightyears ahead of the curve and there was no chance of him independently being able stay the superstar he was with no infrastructure around him to push him to the masses. . Plus no Hypnoparadise

There is just nothing new happening anymore. The only thing new was a 1983 release of practice session(s). That's it. That's all we got. I fear people are losing interest and they are getting tired of waiting.

With the exception of the Egyptian flavor and the belly dancing, I really don't think Mayte was that much of an influence at all - even with the music. She came officially came on the scene in '91, but for the next 4+ years Prince was dating/spending time with many other women/muses/influences - Nona, Carmen, and more I'm sure. Prince was running around and enjoying the single life while Mayte was dancing (really mainly gyrating) on stage with him. * Even looking at the evolution of the Emancipation album - there were several configurations for that album as far back as July 1995, and the earlier ones did not include songs about his relationship with Mayte - in fact, many were related to lost love or wanting someone back. There were really only a few songs on Disc 2 which were connected to the marriage/baby, and they were all recorded in early 1996. * Prince really wanted a child, and it is a sad and tragic situation. I'm sure if his child had been healthy and survived he would not have turned so heavily toward religion. I don't think he would have stayed married, but I think he would have tried to be an involved Father. However, I think that would have been difficult, because I don't think he would have slowed down his recording/performing.
