Prince concert memories for new book

Just seen this post on https://www.facebook.com/thisdayinmusic

Work on our next The Day I Was There book is already underway, and it's about Prince. If you saw the Purple One in concert, we'd love to hear your memories at iwasatthatgig@gmail.com.

We're interested in how you discovered his music, where and when you saw him, how old you were, who you went with, how you got tickets and what you recall of the show. And if you saw him more than once, we're happy to hear about more than one show.

all those memories have been posted, look them up, almost all of us has said stuff on every phase of our relationship with the genius. Don't be lazy, we've already written the stuff.

Eh, maybe, but not in as much detail as perhaps the author(s) would want to write 300 pages of a book.

you have smart people here, I'm one of them, you won't get better, clearer anectdotes from me by asking me something I've already answered as best as I could from memory unless i was stretching the truth, that's my point. the stories on here are undressed by any need to impress anyone, just honest observation.

But if you were to copy & paste your story and send it to them, they would have your permission to use it.

What?

Good point. As I started to write my Lovesexy experience, the writer and publisher in me poked his head up. I've been promised nothing by this as a contributor. Free physical copy? Mention in the book's acknowledgments? What if it's a shitty publication with cheap illustrations, bad editing, and overall lackluster design? I'm rethinking that maybe it's not something I would risk. I'm quite capable of writing my own books, and have.

I want to write a Prince book, but it has to be unique or special, not just another rundown of his Central High, Grand Central, Chris Moon, Warner Bros., Slave, Symbol bullshit. That's what is good with Tudahl's book, is that it is so specific, technical, and has good, brief and exact storytelling. I'm still stewing on what I want to talk about in my book. I really need it to be from a fan's point of view, not just someone jumping on the dead rockstar bandwagon. It has to be a labor of love, which I believe Tudahl's is to a great extent.

One day, I'll figure it out. And I'll include my Lovesexy story in it.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

it's their book so i can't tell them how to write it but there have been books done on elvis from celebs saying things that are pretty good, accounts of graffiti on the walls of graceland, there are many ways to convey these stories. I've always longed for accounts of elvis from fans he'd met, nothing but people he may have ran across one night in some small town in the early days or stories from when he'd venture into public, there are many but enough to make me just want so many more.
