I came very late to Prince with 'Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic' being my first purchase. I love all of Prince's catalogue and was (and still am) devestated by his passing.
Looking at the releases he made after my first physical sale encounter, initially I wasn't too engaged - after all, this was the genius that had given us albums like 'Purple Rain' and '1999'. Now I'm listening to the other post releases and realising how much wonderful stuff is there. Prince is like an onion - layers, layers and layers.
Does anyone else relate to how I feel?

Revisiting certain albums happens often, but I sense that with dedicated Prince fans, revisits can move the needle slightly in one direction or the other.

For example, The Rainbow Children is one that I revisited after Prince died. I found it to be better from beginning to end than I originally thought.

Some albums, like Graffiti Bridge, I shift from thinking it's a good album or a very-good-to-great album.

But my opinions on his catalogue from 1979-1988 are pretty much set in stone, and the albums I thought were his weakest 10 years ago I still consider to be his weakest today.

Of course, "weak" is a relative term when dealing with Prince.
