Lyrics that mean a lot to my past... reflections on a girlfriend that truly broke my heart and a song about desperation in a relationship that is doomed from the start. Excuse me, but is this really goodbye? We ask this, even when we know the answer. I would hear this song time and time again and still evokes thoughts of how sad I was during that time four years ago.

I love the whole song, but especially in the end...when Prince is singing "Excuse me, butis this really (goodbye)." Jesus, it almost sounds as if he's going to cry. That's emotion, and that's the type of song that stays in my mind.
