Was young P really a scrapper? 😲 In an interview, Prince’s sister Tyka said Prince be fighting all the time on the way home from school and was just basically fighting (as in fist fighting I assume she means with other young boys) when he was a youngster.
Do you believe this? No teachers or other people claimed this, did they? I’ve never heard it. To me, Prince seems to have been more of the quiet reserved type (then again, he said himself and it seems true that once he knew you he wasn’t always quiet). I know he had many aspects to his personality. In the ‘90s he had a gangsta thing goin on for a while w/Sexy MF and the white hooded jacket “era”. But can you really see him as a scrapper? A couple of years ago there was a person that joined not too long after Prince passed away who had gone to school with him and told a couple of stories about Prince getting in fights quite often at school. Seems that Prince stood up for himself if someone dissed him in some way. So, yeah, he was a 'scrapper'. [Edited 12/22/18 8:34am] | |

I seem to remember someone close to him saying that he didn't fight fair and would take a running leap and tackle the person to the ground. I also recall someone saying they had seen him hit guys much bigger than him. It think it may have been Jellybean who said that. | |

Well, you can imagine him getting bullied for being so little & him not taking it at all. I will never forget looking at his (adult) shoes at the PPark tour & thinking, those are smaller than the ones I wear!! Size 5 1/2 is small for a dude!

I doubt it, a man that small a lot of average men could just shove him around without even hurting him. he may have been able to beat up on other kids who also weren't fighters but I always thought the stories of his fighting were exaggerated. | |

Yes. Prince and Andre Cymone used to beat some A's when they started their band together. It the clothes that they wore. Some men thought they were gay. In all of my magazines fo Prince. It said that he was a good fighter. | |
