Yes, Spotify, I own most Prince albums on CD and a few on Vinyl but I can't bring a CD or Vinyl player to school with me! |

But, he did. IIRC, they offered those files while he was alive.
What I meant was: I wish Prince had released the CD-quality files himself, either first through NPGMC (the first time I had most of those albums) or through the Musicology Store.
Prince himself released low-quality MP3s on his own sites. I get that Internet speed were not what they are now, but even still, some of them were low-quality even by those standards.
What the difference between Prince releasing FLAC files himself and Prince handing FLAC files to TIDAL to release for him? Do you not like the idea of supporting TIDAL?

Yeah 200 MUSIC VIDEOS....most of which have been televised on music channels, nothing special about that. Sure there are a few concert videos but those where leaked on YouTube when he died and eventually got taken down....you must have seen those or known about them?!?
Most fans would have taken copies from YouTube when they were up....in particular Montreux and North Sea Jazz Festivals were high quality. The rest where generally bad and not worth viewing.

Wait a minute, you have 200+ VIDEO collection of Prince? That would only mean that you have a hell of a lot of Prince LIVE IN CONCERT...VIDEO footage, right? So go ahead and shut old folks like ME...the fuck up...by showing us what we've apparently somehow missed out on. Don't talk about it, discretely be about it. We'll wait!

I don't mind supporting TIDAL at all. As I stated before, I bought all of those albums from them and all of the standalone songs (i.e. Free Urself, If Eye Could Get Ur Attention, etc.) too.
My gripe was purchasing the same content twice or even 3 times. Once through NPGMC (back when memberships were $100 yearly), then again through Musicology because they were slightly different versions (albeit in DRM-locked WMA files which are worthless now anyway) and then again through TIDAL.
It's not like going from vinyl to cassette to CD (which I've done many times) - this is all digital. The first batch should have been high-def MP3s or FLAC.

'Do you stream Prince's music?'
.
No.
.
Or you only listen to your cassettes, vinyls and cd's?
.
If you cannot think of ther ways to reproduce music I cannot help you. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry. |
