If you can't see the narrative that's being played out here then I can't have a discussion with you. The protests aren't doing anything but inciting more violence, and causing more accidents. It's people's right, certainly, but what good has come of them? Solidarity? That whole Charlottesville fiasco was used by the media to raise tensions and generate ratings.
Recently when a guy got shot in Charlotte, NC there was a BLM protest in uptown, and guess what? Someone else got shot. But it wasn't by the cops, but people looking to fight within the protesters. This is how they get you, by hijacking your emotions. And now we're getting mired in disagreemnets here, so they win again. I don't pretend these things don't happen, but I disavow myself of the nonesense to maintain clarity of mind. My only regret is seeing the stupid movie in the first place. I feel remorse that Prince is tied to it.

I am still trying to understand...Do you feel Prince was trying to avoid being tied to Identity Politics?I would like to know what you think Prince would have preferred? Who did Spike Lee defer to IYO?

Strive said: I'll explain even though people aren't actually interested in an answer. Prince never really conformed to the truth. Even at his most religious publically, privately he always had different rules for himself. He always thought that since he was blessed with musical talent that he was ordained by God. For the most part, the things he sung about in his songs and talked about in interviews were in accordance with the truth...even if his private life wasn't. When Prince reemerged in 2013, that changed. He started talking about how the people in charge needed to listen to the people (instead of the correct answer of listening to God's word), jamming himself into social justice groups and augmenting his religion with new ideas. Posing with the eye ring over his heart. Etc. To his credit, he did this in Prince-ways where he still wasn't toeing the company line. He invested money into teaching low income kids on how to code, thought Black Lives Matter was a fashion issue, told people in Baltimore that he wanted to stay in hotels they owned the next time he came back and still refused to participate in politics even if he resigned himself to a Hillary presidency. Now that he can no longer defend his image, he's a slave in death. Any nuance he had in his beliefs have been wiped away. The ruling class is bending his image and work to fit with their narrative. Well JW are wrong. If you want to quote the bible Jesus said "what you bind on earth will be bound in heaven" Sabbath was made for man not man for the sabbath" . Mankind is empowered in secular authority..

TheGloved1 said: ^ I could give an example of that. If you've seen the propaganda fest BlackKkKlansman you'll be shocked at the fear mongering ending. Spike Lee sold out a long time ago and I was pissed at the garbage he pulled at the end of that pseudo-true story. Really, most of it was BS, "artistic license" be damned, they played with the facts and want people against eachother in that blaxploitation wackness.
To add insult to injury, they cue Prince up within seconds of the offending material to try and strike a resonant chord emotionally and influence the audience. The song in question of course is Mary Don't You Weep. He is being used. Note Prince didn't want his financial backing of Spike Lee's Malcom X biopic made public either. He's being roped into this identity politics nonsense; to fan the flames. [Edited 9/21/18 23:17pm] [Edited 9/21/18 23:20pm] [Edited 9/21/18 23:55pm] Prince was deluded if he thought he 2as ever NOT political. Every ounce of his being is political. To none align with a party doesn't make it none political. Religion is political n JW talk bollocks not to call out parties for issues. More evil is commited in silence. Jesus told how workers shoukd be paid...it doesn't get more political than distribution of money. The nearest Jesus gets to a JW take is not to hold out for pure political solutions.."render on to caesar..". He rampaged in the temple. If you're saying therefore that Prince was wrong to meddle and should of stuck to JW take then youre talking crap. Youre saying he would have been fine othetwise? Your average JW is also not a superstar n have the Priviledge to exact change. How is the world meant to function without political engagement and structure.. Bollocks

Prince would be proud. It’s everything he stood for. Which he first accomplished with his “Baltimore” video.. Spike Lee(whom I met at the Image Awards) has done Prince justice for his legacy as usual. "That mountain top situation is not really what it's all cracked up 2 B when was doing the Purple Rain tour had a lot of people who knew 'll never c again @ the concerts.just screamin n places they thought they was suppose 2 scream."

Mary Don't You Weep Mary Don't You Weep" (alternately titled "O Mary Don't You Weep", "Oh Mary, Don't You Weep, Don't You Mourn", or variations thereof) is a Spiritual that originates from before the American Civil War[1] – thus it is what scholars call a "slave song," "a label that describes their origins among the enslaved," and it contains "coded messages of hope and resistance."[2] It is one of the most important of Negro spirituals.[1] https://en.wikipedia.org/...t_You_Weep Ohh purple joy oh purple bliss oh purple rapture!
