Who has seen the official 1994 Black Album ON CD go for $$$?

Is this CD out of print or actually limited edition? CD

I can understand if I see the official VINYL go for money, but is the Compact Disc becoming rarer? hmmm

I bought it on ebay about 3 years ago for about 20 euro. It was more than I wanted to spend but I remember justifying it in my mind because I had gotten Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic and New Power Soul for around a tenner. So it worked out at 30 quid for 3 albums. Which isn't bad.

But still... have you seen the Black Album official CD go for extra money, in your personal experience? I can't Google that! wink

I keep seeing it in record stores priced for more than other out of print Prince CDs. smile

The 1994 album is easy to find.

If you want to do rare go for the Black Album 1987 CD Longbox. To the best of my knowledge, only 5 copies ever surfaced. The last one sold for $30,000.

You could always consult Discogs, an excellent resource for estimating the current going rate for specific versions just about any record or CD:

There are 23 for sale on there right now ranging from $25-$200. The lowest price it's sold for there is $17.99 and the highest $50, with a median price of $24.99.

Sounds like an open used copy in good condition is worth about $25 to me. wink
