Thanks so much for posting, Latin! I live in Philly, but will be in Canada on Sept. 2. However, my mother in law, who also loves Prince, may be able to go.

I just discovered his Questlove Supreme podcast on Pandora. Great stuff! I especially enjoyed Donnie Simpson, Babyface, Chaka Khan & Jimmy Jam's interviews.

I put that app on my phone and tried to access some older podcasts of his but had no luck. Any suggestions?

Latin, you are the best heart. One of my best friends texted me hours ago about this event, as we both live in Philly. I went to buy my ticket but the "buy" button just would not work at all. I assumed it was sold out. So, resigned to the idea that I had missed my opportunity, I came here and saw your thread, tried the link you provided on a whim, and it got me to the correct page to purchase the ticket. Thank you so much.

.

I hope to meet some orgers there. Looking forward to this event. If you plan to attend this Sunday, feel free to send me an orgnote if you would like to meet up there.

Hey, did anyone go? How was it???

I couldn't find anyone to go with and it was nearly a four-hour ride. Past NYC and into Philly... on Labor Day weekend. Too much. But I really would've loved to go.

It was a very nice gathering. Full house in a nice hipster restaurant with a fairly big screen and stage up at the front. Quest DJ'ed for maybe for the first hour. I missed half of it but he it was a fantastic mix of fan favorites, rehearsal recordings, b-sides, etc. Then he showed the alternate movie intro following by the the full official movie. It's been a number of years since I've seen UTCM so it was great to see it on a screen with a crowd. Afterwards, Quest brought out Jerome Benton as a guest on his podcast and spent about an hour talking with him. Quest went back to DJ'ing four about another hour after the podcast ended, while some of the more hardcore Prince fans stayed behind to meet & talk with Jerome and take selfies with him.

.

A lovely time was had by all.

.

I did start crying when "Sometimes It Snows In April" came on during the movie. But the movie is great to watch to experience the music through cinema.

.

There were definitely hardcore fans present--one can usually tell by the tee-shirt they are wearing. But more than 50% of the crowd seemed to be 30-ish-something kids that did not appear to know the music well at all and were drawn I'm guessing because it was a novelty to see a movie Prince produced or because they are new fans to his music.
