Someone must surely still have both tapes. I had to abandon my collection when I moved to Japan, but I know I would have never thrown them out.

Anyway, they are available on Amazon.uk if anyone feels like ordering and digitizing them.

Can somebody please point out the differences between the various versions? What is in the VHS version that is not in the Laserdisc version? And how is the original TV broadcast different? I have several digitized versions in my collection but cannot identify the source.

Yeah I also got rid of my old cassettes when I sold my last VCR, knowing I'd never had another one. I'm sure someone could rip it, but no one bothered.

The TV broadcast is 02:02:01 while the LD is 01:51:01. I think the main difference is Cross The Line not being in its entirety in the LD, probably as well as some changes in the video edit favoring certain angles over others. The VHS release is probably the same as the LD release (Cross The Line being incomplete as well), but with opening and ending credits added to both parts since the original release was 2 separate cassettes (with part 1 being part 2 or the show and part 2 being part 1). AFAIK the VHS release was never digitalized so you probably have the TV and LD versions.

I've still got both cassettes and my VCR. I still play them occasionally although the TV version isn't hugely different to the released videos (as others have already said). I've never understood why they weren't digitised but I'm not techy so can't do it myself.
