I tend to try not to be too reactive to favorite songs lists UNTIL NOW!!!! I've seen a lot of post 80s lists on the org but I never remember seeing a top 10 list that included Every Day Is A Winding Road and So Far, So Pleased. I am truly astounded that this was the best Rolling Stone could do. I guess they are trying to make the recent compilation look ingenious by comparison.

Cool they did that list. But I get the feeling that many of their selections indicative of trying to legitimize later-day prince by pointing out songs on which he collaborated with other artists or was influenced by young artists. Not needed and it limits the songs they could pick.

I agree with the selections of Endorphinmachine, U’re Gonna C Me, Call My Name, and Xpedition. . Here is my top-ten list. Several of these were already available on Tidal, but are now available for streaming across streaming platforms. . 1. Endorphinmachine - This song is absolutely badass! 2. The Love We Make - A lyrically profound masterpeice with the perfect melody and instrumentation to complement the lyrics. My guess is that Prince loved it also because he played it live numerous times in the 2010s. 3. Colonized Mind - A lyrically profound masterpeice with terrific guitar work. 4. Call My Name - A fantastic love song. His vocals are exquisite. 5. Eye Hate U - A song that only Prince could write; the trial-related references are so so clever. It reminds me of the airplane references in International Lover. The guitar work is great. It almost reached the Billboard top 10 in the US. 6. The One - He pulls of the layered Middle Eastern vibe perfectly. I love the video also. 7. Te Amo Corazon (which is better than Black Sweat, in my opinion, and from the same album) - I love how vulnerable he is in this song. His vocals are gorgeous. 8. Xpedition - A wonderful jazzy instrumental track. 9. U’re Gonna C Me - Simply gorgeous. 10. I Like It There - Another track which proves that Prince could make rock music very well. Honorable Mention: Crucial (This song is phenomenal, but it’s not technically a late-period Prince song) U Make My Sun Shine Satisfied One of Your Tears The Holy River Somewhere Here on Earth Future Baby Mama (it won a Grammy and is better than Black Sweat, IMO Live 4 Love ~ Love is God, God is love, Girls and boys love God above

So weird how Chelsea Rodgers is getting mentioned by every media outlet due to the estate's decision to include it on Anthology but Sticky Like Glue is being completely ignored.

And Chelsea Rodgers is VERY appealing to non-Prince fans, at least it was at the time: I remember my friends raving about it, and playing it at parties, and the dancefloor was on fire. It's one of those few Prince songs that don't sound too much like a Prince song, so people would appreciate it for what it is as opposed to an "Nth Prince funk song". The nu disco sound was also in tune with what was popular in 2007. With proper marketing it could have been a huge hit-single, I've always been puzzled that Prince and Columbia didn't realize that back then, or maybe Columbia decided not to put too much effort into the record because of the newspapers giveaways IDK. A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

Yeah, Chelsea Rodgers was a great song that had good pop sensibilities. It sort of sounded like something Andre 3000 could have put on the Love Below.
The way the album it came from was released was sort of prohibitive for a hit-single, sadly. A certain kind of mellow.

His best cover was "ANOTHERLOVE". That song destroys.
