Right! Now someone has got to do some more research to determine if the story is truly fiction |

Well “the kid” ice skated. In purple rain in the basement scene There is a pair hanging on the door.
I thought of that too. I think he probably did ice skate when he was young. |

Am I the only one that imagined Charlie Murphy telling the story.
I love it btw. Thought it was great. Cause tomorrow is taking too long
and yesterday's too far away
and the reality that you believe in begins to bind. |

Uh, I already did that AND posted the truth last week..
I asked a very reputable source: someone who worked closely with him during the "Canada" years. Mid 2000s.
The story is pure fictional poorly written BS. [Edited 8/29/18 9:15am]Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me. |

Yes I saw your post. However, with all the accounts I have read from past associates who worked very closely with him at various times the one common thread among them is that they were not privy to many things he did during their time with him.

That being said, the story is most likely just fun fiction - especially being that Prince did not usually go to public places, however remote, without someone with him. Also, it has been written that Prince hated the MN winters, which is why he spent most of those months in LA when not touring. |

The hosts of the podcast talked like they believed it to be an actual encounter. I looked to see if Clive Desmond mentioned anything about it but couldn't find anything. I recall that Prince said to Oprah that MN was so cold that it kept the "bad people" out. He was spending some of the winter there the last three years so it seemed he decided to deal with them in favor of working at Paisley. |

Good idea Pink. Definitely, the best avenue to take to get a confirmation would be the author of the story. I'm leaning more toward fiction, but I'm sure it certainly would not be the most unusual outing Prince ever took

Regarding him staying in MN during winter months the last few years of his life - my guess would be that it became easier for him to have people come to PP vs. moving to another location. I think he probably had had enough of the long-term residences elsewhere. The 3rd Eye girls had also moved to MN, and he was focusing on making music with them. I remember reading an interview with, I think Hannah, who said they were living at one of the nearby hotels, and they would get to PP at around 10-11am, and just play for hours and hours. She said they often lost track of time and days - it was just constant jamming everyday for all the time they were there. |

He didn't post anything about it on his Facebook and I am thinking it was likely a creative story. I also doubt that if Prince did go ice skating he would have gone alone or while in full makeup Lol. I agree about the reason for spending winters in MN. I remember reading an interview with Donna where she said something similar. I saw a tweet recently where someone asked Prince why he didn't just go on a "normal" tour and he replied why don't we go on a "normal tour to Paisley instead." I believe it was also said that he was planning a residency there. |

Chuckle! This gave me a laugh at times. It was just a *bit* over the top. But nice sentiment. PS: Prince didn’t wear lipstick. |

Probably not.....but I do recall seeing video of him where he appeared to be wearing some type of lip gloss/balm which gave his lips an iridescent sheen |

I’ve seen others like it where he is definitely rockin’ the lip gloss. ❤️ |

I read or heard an interview with Andre Cymone in which he stated that he played ice hockey when he lived in Minnesota , and that his Dad encouraged it ...so maybe Prince tagged along |

Yes - also the 2009 Montreux show - he's wearing the bright red suit with the red and white guitar with shiny lips |

That would be believable. And with Prince's competitive nature it would not be surprising if he wanted to learn in order to skate as well as Andre Although, the reality probably is that while Andre was at the ice rink Prince was busy practicing his instruments at the Cymone house |
