Unless the Universal and Sony Po - Po have joined forces, they are not there in New Zealand either, just some official singles, but most of the obscure singles like Automatic. It was in a Nightchild video and Mr Ant, another prince fan in the UK spoke of his videos being taken down after Sony made copyright claims he has had to redo them and put them up as copyright approved. . Nightchilds video had a screenshot showing all the bootey ones like the Transmission Impossible rubbish and 94 east (TI exists for MJ and Madonna too), so bootlegs and Ka$h ins. . It is obvious Sony BMG will do the same hardass take down and sue crap that Universal did and already fan communities on YT are getting angry, along with facebook groups. I got plenty good loving for ya baby | |

I'm not sure about the state of affairs but I think publishing houses and labels have somehow made a deal with YT that says that if they don't take unofficial upload of their music down, the algorythm will count those uploads in the royalties revenue YT gives them. So it's my take that the algorythm will track down music that's in its database and somehow add those to an artist's "topic" list, or apparently even to that artist's official channel. How does that make any of it semi-official? I'd say it doesn't, it's just a way for labels and artists to make money off unauthorized uploads, including bootlegs, which is easier (and more profitable) than to have to track them all down and having to send 500 requests a day to YT. It's interesting to see how the internet sort of forces the industry to make money off bootlegs and pirate uploads instead of hunting them down, but they're still bootlegs and pirate uploads nonetheless. Obviously there's too much to track down, and if the labels and artists won't make money off them, then YT will, so in the end I guess they'd rather take their share than to have Google making ads money off their intellectual property.
