way back home lately, i feel so much like that. i used to say i wanted little red corvette played at my funeral, which sounds wierd but it's my funeral, now i want to hear way back home too. i think they are similar in ways too, similar chord progression.

sure, i hear you, but i really think it's better there than here, so why not lament the fact that i'm still here? Prince was done with the world and so am i, doesn't mean i won't try or live but I understood what he was saying. in fact, it was songs like that, avalanche and old friends 4 sale where i probably relate the most. I've never been a partier or a social person or successful enough with the ladies to be able to relate to any of those songs outside of just loving the music.

I love that and totally agree!
The GIF reminded me of a drive from FL to NY my ex and I did when we first got engaged. I got a Big Gulp and then of course had to urinate about 30 minutes later. My ex refused to stop so we worked out that I would use the Big Gulp cup to deposit the "big gulp". He said he would slow down to let me pour it out. Unfortunately he did not slow down enough and I didn't have a calculator to insert a blowback formula......and I ended up with my bodily fluid on my face.
And yeah, I looked just like that GIF for the next VERY QUIET 30 minutes! I was so surprised that he could hold his laughter for that long!!!

ya, that's an interesting song, he knew all the dangers of the business, somehow something got to him. I non-sarcastically wonder if he was found "facedown" elvis was, whitney was.

Thieves In The Temple. Underneath the pop and funk, its the ultimate song about spurn and heartbreak. The 12" take the pain/anger to another level. .

We Gets Up. I never thought a track from that record would be the first song that popped in my head given how much I disliked that whole bloated mess when it was released (and beyond). Actually Facedown, The Holy River, Da, da, da, Get Yo Groove on are all pick-me-ups for me. It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN

Depends on the TYPE of pain.... if I think of my heartache from lovers then I tend to have a more "Facedown" kiss my ass, screw you feeling.

ya, i think it goes for composers many times too, i've heard of tchaichovsky writing his most joyous music at his most down periods. Also, i still remember my ma, getting fired from her job and buying tapes of prince to take with her for a few days when she left us to recuperate. I asked why because I was about 14, my stepdad told me "to make her feel better".
