Prince and vox guitar Am i the only one who thinks that Prince had a strugle with Vox guitars? It seems like Vox was there 4 the rock inage but Prince seemed very uncomfortable playing vix guitars compared to Strats and hohner.most of his solos on vox seemed forced and unispired unlike the strats andhohner guitar players.vox era was second worse after Rave era considering his guitar pkaying

I liked his playing with the Vox guitars...He seemed (to me) to play them with ease...His guitar tone also sounded a bit cleaner too.....(not saturated, unclear and overprocessed like in the 90's).... The Vox tone he had fit well with the 3EG project...Donna and P's guitar tones seemed to blend real well together too.....The 80's P was always about doing something different and unexpected...so the Vox guitars, the Afro, the weird clothes and 3EG reminded me of that.

I Like The Vox He First Started Playing It in 2012(The Custom One)And If You Look At The PP Crime Pics He Had At Least 6 Of Them Laying Around(Blackburst)So I Take It That He Liked Them I've Been looking 4One For A Longtime Plus Prince Also Inspired Soldano To Make A Completely Clean Amp Head That's A Best Seller The Soldano Little Luck 50 Watt Was Prince's Own Custom Amp They Dedcided To Sell While He Was Still Alive(Aparently He Didn't Mind That Amp Has Plenty Of Clean Headroom For His Cleaned Up Tone In The Last 4 Years). I really dug his Vox double cutaway with the P-90 pickups...That gave him a "nice clean to dirty raunch" tone (without saturated unclear distortion)....I could hear every note he picked and also when he changed the toggle switch positions.

I loathe the look of the white Vox with black/red flames on it. To me, it looks a bit amateurish and not something "Prince-ly". And, the paint treatment is only on the top, not anywhere else which makes me like it even less.

Sometimes it is good to try an instrument that fights back a little bit, makes you play differently, out of your comfort zone kind of thing. Keeps things fresh.
