5lbs, 15.5 inches long...Prince when he was born?

According to a fan of his on facebook, he weighed 5 pounds and was 15.5 inches long at birth. Can anyone confirm. Tiny little king.

15 inches long? Most babies are around 20. That's really small.

I think that's a pretty fair assumption. Of course, it's also possible that his mom smoked during pregnancy - which can also cause low birth weight.

Damn lol I was just 18.5 inches long at birth and I thought that was very indicative of my adukt 4feet 11.75imch height at 5 feet 3 inches I would have thought a little highee burth length. But omg so cute tiny baby. I miss babies.

My daughter weighed 4 lbs 12 ozs at birth and was 17&3/4" long. She was taken a week early (born at 36 weeks - 37 to 40 weeks is considered full term). But she was IUGR (intrauterine growth restricted - the body stops growing to allow the brain and heart to grow). And she was very tiny to me. So Prince was heavier but shorter. It's possible that he was slightly premature. My sister's first son was also born at 36 weeks and he weighed 5 lbs 13 ozs at birth and was 18.2" long. If I had to guess at any prematurity, I would say he was born around 35 or 36 weeks gestation.

Yes that would be considered early term. Also during the 50s Formula was considered all the rage and superior to breastmilk so doctor's were encouraging women to bottle feed...so I wonder if Prince was breastfed as a baby, the reason I wonder is because new studies are coming out all the time about how breastfeeding is basically a magic elixer for brain development, gut flora health, immunity development, emotional development, physical touch and closeness ( especially, for early babies) it really does set the tone for humans, and its absence might have contributed to Prince's health.
