2 new boots

NO SOLICITING FOR BOOTLEGS! Discussion is fine, so long as the bootleg is not being promoted e.g. pre-release; requests/offers to share or copy, and links to download or bootleg sites are not. These rules are strictly enforced!

EYE's It's Too Funky In Here & Parade Over Europe are making the rounds. Most of the material has already leaked recently which will of course dampen the excitement for these.

Sorry, I don't have time to provide tracklists and such at the moment. Maybe some kind soul will come along and do the honors?

I know I'm probably in the minority here, I enjoy listening to rehearsals and all, some interesting stuff on them but I really like studio outtakes, especially of songs I've never heard so I can't wait for more of that! That being said, I'm still glad for these sets.

I think everyone prefers studio outtakes! Sometimes though, with soundboard recordings, they do sound very close to studio quality.

What I never personally got into was audience-recorded bootlegs. Although that was the way I heard most of the Gold stuff early, no thank you.

This one is actually from 31 October 1984. wink


"The Ladder is the eighth track on Prince's seventh album Around The World In A Day, the second album to be credited to Prince and the Revolution. Basic tracking was done on 31 October 1984, during the last day of rehearsals for the Purple Rain Tour at the Saint Paul Civic Center Arena, St. Paul, Minnesota. The basic recording was taken to the Flying Cloud Drive Warehouse in Eden Prairie afterwards, where Wendy & Lisa, together with Susannah Melvoin and Taja Sevelle (as "Taj") recorded background vocals."

I just heard the first disc of the San Francisco concert. Sound is great, too bad though that "God" is cut & "Baby, I'm A Star" edited (?).
