Limited black vinyl edition of Nothing Compares 2 U 7" to be released this friday.

Limited copies available.

I forgot all about that!

How time flies as that has come around quickly.

When I order items I tend to forget about them until they turn up.

It will be another month before the picture disc is dispatched.

where might one go to purchase such an item?

Just checked my local wrecka stow, they have "a couple copies" ordered and expect it in store Friday, but, they did say "you never know with vinyl" if it will arrive on time. They told me to call on noon Friday.

just placed my order a hour ago.it was a little over $13. Cant Wait to get it!!

I guess from the estates perspective, the limited picture was from the website only, the purple vinyl was the record store day version, and now this one is mainly for the stores...

Weird thing it wasn't really "planned" for the record day release, but some stores did carry it on record day, including Electric Fetus.

Oh, OK. I thought it was exclusive ONLY to Electric Fetus and not part of the overall Record Store Day releases throughout the country.

You are partially right... It wasn't supposed to be an overall record store day release throughout the country... Electric Fetus and a FEW other stores did carry it on stock though on record store day. I think it was a last minute thing when the single was released out of nowhere...

Gotcha. I don't have to beat myself up for not fighting the crowd at my local wrecka stow looking for it since they probably didn't have it anyway. Cool.

I'd like the purple, will be happy with the black and have no interest in the picture disc. If they have purple when I pick it up Friday, I'll get it, if they don't, I'll be fine with black.

well mine has just arrived. Havent played it yet.

I haven't really bought many new release 7" singles in the past 30 years, back in the 80s they were a buck or two.

I have bought one or two Record Store Day releases and a couple other limited editions in the last decade or so, they were in the $5 range. That's what I was expecting. Looks like it's twice that on Amazon, which is probably what I'll be paying at the wrecka stow tomorrow.

My store ordered "a couple", but they didn't come in. They took my # and told me it might be in by Wednesday...

Sometimes it's hard to do the right thing and support a mom & pop shop instead of just ordering from Amazon.

the 4:12 edit? i have the 4:40 which i bough from amazon.

I have a 3:34 version called "radio edit" that I got on the discs I get in the mail for my mobile DJ business. It's a terrible edit that gets rid of the sax solo all together. I also got the full version from Amazon. I have yet to see the "edit" version available online. I have that on the purple vinyl single right now.

Got a call from my wrecka stow this morning to let me know that they finally got it in and set one aside for me.

A nice looking release, but even the $10.99 is a JOKE of a price for essentially one song.

A shame they can't just release it 'properly', with a regular price.... they have to make a song and dance about it. I'd understand if they'd jazzed it up with some over vault material, but that's not the case.

It's actually pretty insulting that they're releasing it for this price.

I paid $9.98 (+tax) at a mom & pop record store, I thought that was high.

That's about the average price for a 45 in 2018. This isn't 1984 anymore
