Prince & Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)

Did Prince have his band members and other employees sign NDA agreements for confidentiality? Also do most major musicians, entertainers, actors, celebs, etc do this? Just curious because you don't hear many negative things said about Prince by people who've worked for him.

Two possibilities:

1. Of course he had them sign NDAs. All celebrities do

2. Maybe there aren't any negative stories to spread. Judging from what his co-workers said after his death, at least for the last 20 years or so Prince was a great person to work for

Quote from Maceo (May 2016): “I’m still in denial,” Parker said of Prince’s death at age 57. “When I was playing with him, he’d tell everybody, ‘I don’t want to be part of your interviews, now.’ He had this thing to sign and I just said, ‘I enjoy who I am and the relationship I have with you, and I just want to shake your hand and tell you I won’t say much except I think you’re a sweetheart and a real genius.’ He was the tops. It’s still hard to believe.”

At an even in April, I spent time talking to the wife of one of his former security guys - home security in the 80s/90s. He signed an NDA, and when he left, they tried to get him to sign another. Even though none of it is currently binding, he still refuses to even write down any stories for his kids or anything.

So it's not the strength of the NDAs that has kept people quiet. It really is loyalty to the man.
