You're being trolled. Anyone who believes a single word that comes out of that joke of a president who is simply an embarrassment to the American people, is just saying things to be provocative. Prince LOVED the UK, everyone knows that! As for taking a stand against touts and resellers...I say good on him because they are vultures. If Prince was ALSO truly worried about the terrorist attacks then so what?
Well, Prince wouldn't have said he "hated the UK" would he? That would be silly. In the end, though, I think it's well-documented that he preferred France--that's the place he wrote about, that's where he chose to live for a while, own properties etc. Not foggy London town. With the best will in the world, I couldn't picture Prince mixing it up with the locals down at the Old Kent Road, or some other backwater. |

Not sure what your opening comment has got to do with where he lived or chose to play concerts! You referenced England being a bombsite and stabbings etc which was clearly a reference to "President" Trump's latest idiotic faux pas... The murder rate per 100k population in USA is 4.88 whereas in the Uk it is only 0.92. Pretty obvious which country is the safest! 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything. |

Prince was finding a way to outsmart ticket scammers. I thought this was settled science. Had nothing to do with his health and little to do with terrorism. |

I suppose the fact that PP explicitly said the cancellation was due to recent terrorism events has no meaning for you then? You choose to ignore it? Well, ok. |

This is getting a little tiresome. First. I can't spend my time trying to convince you what I think is not what you think I think. That's would be impossible. Second. The conversation here has moved on to the extent that I'm responding to specific rebuttals. You're making the leap.
To return to my original point. I think it still stands. England is dodgy. |

I know. No one can seriously be that obtuse to world affairs. Just was interested to see their reply - sadly disappointed. It was a rough time for Europe indeed, not surprised he (or his insurance company, as someone rightly pointed out) cancelled. Prince: 1958-infinity. Thank U for everything. |

Anyway, to get back on track...I certainly think he wanted to do this tour. This is a man who lived for performing. Such a shame that we never get to see him with this special show in Europe. |

You guess incorrectly (and not for the first time). Also, I'm sensing a theme. There's a helluva alot of supposition on your part; and arrogance. What gives you the stones to assume your thinking on the subject equates with the reality of it. Weird. |

True, while you were missing out, though, I went to see one of his longest shows ever in LA (4 hours), that very same year. It was fantastic. |

You literally have no idea what you're talking about do you? It like you'll just say anything to see if it fits. Also, if you really meant your absurd "give me a concise 90/120 minute show any day" comment (which I doubt) then you clearly aren't a fan. |

Says the person who joined in April 2017. I also had no idea that you are the absolute arbiter in deciding who is a Prince fan. You're a very odd little person, aren't you?
You know, I'd love to continue this pissing contest which you seem so fond of but I have to get up for a recording job in the morning. Maybe you should try getting some kind of a job too? It might just enable you to grow up at last. |

There's no valve is there? No step between the thought and the sentence. You're like a child wandering alone in wilderness...just white noise for company. Time and again you display your ignorance. You think I've been here since April 2017? You mean you actually went to the trouble to check? Sigh. Poor thing. |

The venues were booked. I talked to Birmingham Symphony Hall organisers about it. I know the management at the venue, because my cousin had been the MD (musical director) of a large show that happened there a few weeks before Prince was supposed to play.
Prince was upset about the touts and wanted to find a new method of ticketing in time for the shows. The terrorist attack in France happened the very next day, and the tour was cancelled because of that.
The answer is here, people. The attack did happen the next day and the tour was then subsequently cancelled while Prince was exploring alternate ticketing options. Sorry the bombings did not happen the next day. They happened the same day in the evening. Facts please! And Prince must have known exactly what would happen ( as we knew) when the tickets went on sale. It happens on every touring artist. To say Prince was "surprised" at the touts and cancelled the tour on the spur of the moment is ridiculous. I'm sure Prince's contracts with venues all included a pullout without penalty clause. The cancellation was a well planned stunt. Postitive publicity for Prince and negative publicity for touts. Prince was a specialist in publicity stunts. As equality grows, violence declines. |

I think that's about right. I do think that the attack had the tour canceled as opposed to an alternate ticketing scheme. After such an event, insurance rates tend to go up for artists, so it would have been less profitable, had he kept the same dates.
.
One thing that really bugs me though... there was never a UK tour, there was a European leg of a world tour planned. </semantics> Paisley Park is in your heart - Love Is Here! |

I remember wondering at the time what on earth he was thinking suddenly caring about touts, it was frustrating as hell. What you're proposing is a definite possibility but he was also erratic as hell at the best of times, someone might have just looked at him wrong. Or maybe he had just googled touts for the first time |
