And she's right - that is a TOTAL midwest thing. (Though, in Minnesota, they'd call it a "hot dish.")

Oh my former cooking show I ended up doing three versions of this. Once I used crab meat and a homemade cheese sauce, baked in ramekins. Another time I did a straight up mac n' cheese with tuna & green peas. I forget the third version. But they were all variants of seafood and mac n' cheese. Mom used to put tuna in mac n' cheese just to stretch it. She also put a scrambled egg in our friend potatoes (which I hated). When you're poor as a kid, you learn to stretch the food. Then it just becomes part of what you eat.

There's one with dill pickles and crushed potato chip topping. foodnow

New Orleans has a "newer" dish called Crawfish Monica (mac & cheese with crawfish) that is taking over Etouffe's spot as a favorite. mac'n'cheese

Mac and cheese with tuna and peas is delightful. nod

Yeah well, this is how I'm feeling right now. And it is what it is.

What I personally, just cannot seem to wrap my brain around is-- WHY in the fucking hell-- are NONE of the Superstar/Influential/Important/ETC...people that have been crawling out of the woodwork since April 21, 2016...happily telling their tales of their connections to Prince-lore to any and every media outlet that will have them.

Do not seem to be bothered in any motherfucking way...about how Prince died...nor the supposed circumstances surrounding how it allegedly happened.

With that being said...I simply cannot, do not nor will not...give nan damn fuck about thier peddling of their Prince-lore!

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

I understand this. What do you think they should say? The media probably prompts them because Prince is a hot topic. Maybe we should write a script for them and lock em in a room until they all say it every time.

In fairness, Gabrielle wasn't there as part of some quasi-Bravomentury or something. She was asked about a few things and she talked about that. WWHL is not a deep show, nor is it going to win awards for in-depth reporting. It's a late night talk show full of fun and games, gossip and pop culture.

And the minute someone does talk about the death or the hows and whys, fans are all "she wasn't there, we don't know the whole story!" Well, bingo. Neither were we. So we're even.

She wasn't there to peddle her Prince story. The host brought it up, not the other way around. You don't know what you're going to be asked on that show, not that anything is insanely weird or something. I don't think this was anyone peddling their Prince story. I love to hear how Prince operated with folks. I certainly don't want to hear a bunch of celebrities surrounded by drugs and lies anyway, extolling some pseudo-knowledge about Prince and drug use. Everyone denies it anyway, and I wanna hear the truth.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

OHhh the scrambled egg in fried potatoes with onions. Lots of ketchup on that please. And the potatoes better be crispy! Mac-n-cheese, tuna, and green peas, yep. Beans and cornbread at every single meal, except breakfast, and then as a midnight snack, cornbread crumbled in milk. (I could never do the cornbread in milk, but my uncle had it almost every night.)

Some of you are talking about poor food that many, like myself, still eat every day - it's all in in how it's cooked. Meat w/pasta/noodles/rice, that's poor food? Fancy restaurants charge beaucoup $$ for the "upgraded" of what we all cook. lol .

LOL - I didn't say I don't still eat "poor food", because I do! When Trivia mentioned the potatoes and eggs, my first thought was, "Ohhhh I haven't had that in quite some time! I should make some for the kids tonight!" lol

Love beans & cornbread. A little ketchup in the beans is good with me.

A little mustard in the chili, and Saltines on the side. (Frito Pie the next day.)

Dad always put a little mayo next to his fried potatoes. I don't but I do make a fry sauce of sorts.

Mmm, I love the tuna thing. I need to make it again soon.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

My uncle always put ketchup in his beans and I'd look at him cross-eyed. I'm all natural - just the beans and the cornbread, and maybe some bacon or a hamhock in it. lol

And what about beanie weanies!? That was always a meal when my oldest was young.

Love Frito Pie!

Yeah, I think a tuna casserole is on the menu for this week. lol

Remember those canned shrimp (in a tin the size of a tuna can)? My mom would cook a gigantic macaroni salad and then put in one can of shrimp. For eight people. We were middle income but she "lived through the depression" and reminded us of it often. LOL.

I love plain mac and cheese...and hot dogs cut up into mashed potatoes.

My mom always made a summer salad of tuna, macaroni, peas, cubes of cheese, and onions. But at least she used the big can of tuna. lol
