The Max, no, the other one from 1988! I must be out of the loop, this is the first time I heard this. The Max, a Lovesexy outtake. Nothing ground breaking but lotsa fun, with great verses. Horns all out the yin yang.
He prolly thought this was too samey. Not religious enuff. a jam doe. All you others say Hell Yea!! |

I had no idea the Max was from 1988. Damn, I loved his live version from 2013. Its too bad over-production ruined the song on the LOve Symbol album because its pretty cool.

i always forget about this song when i'm listening to outtakes, yet somehow i also always find myself humming it in the car, thinking 'i have to look that one up when i get home'.
so now, thanks to your thread, i'm finally listening to it again and it's as much fun as i thought it was. nice little track. i could take a dozen or more of these once every few months.

"The Max" ('88) is a completely different song from "The Max" ('92)
only thing they share is the same name.

I don't know about the 88 version because I don't know where you found it but I do like the 2013 version better than the 92 one because Tony M always seems like a distraction to me...plus, I think less is more sometimes.
