in my humble opinion it's the very best unreleased prince track that there is right now.

it's a career hightlight, even among all the already released tracks.

he should have just seen chance to release 'old friends 4 sale'/'all my dreams' as a one
off single if it didn't fit the album in his mind. but he just had so much music going on
at that time that i can see how it got lost in the shuffle.

still, if ever there was a song that needed to be heard by more people, it's this one. it's
just brilliance, beginning middele and end.

i've heard it seven thousand times or so by now (especially since we got the upgraded
quality version some years ago) and it still literally floors me sometimes. it's just THAT
good.

i could talk about this song for hours, but the ultimate realisation always is that i have
no words to describe just how fantastic i think it is.

I couldn't agree more.

I still think so few people realize that OF4S segued into AMD originally. Even on the old boots, you can hear the reverberating sounds at the end of OF4S at the beginning of AMD. T, on alt.music.prince, used to talk about that and argue the point a lot.

It would still be a great 12" single or something. But if they do an expanded Parade, which I would love, I think those need to be on there in that order (and not the watered down already released version of OF4S), as well as his version of "Mia Bocca" (which was in UTCM), "Others Here With Us" and maybe the original take on the first four tracks of Parade when it was still "Little Girl Wendy's Parade". We have heard the Clare Fisher version of "New Position". It stands to be released on this as well. Just a lot of rich material during that time. He was refreshed after ATWIAD came out. You can hear it in the subsequent music, whether Sheila's album, The Family, or even (later on) Madhouse.

I think "All My Dreams" would have been a great Family song, since there are female vocals prominently in it as well.

indeed, they totally segue into one another, and quite beautifully, too. two superb songs

and yes, they need to be on parade deluxe. they are the ultimate tracks to put on there.
