What do you take from prince's life thats helped you in yours?

I loved how disciplined he was his work rate was unbelievable I strive to be like that in my life though I fall generally very short I mean he might have been naturally talented but without his discipline he would'nt have done what he did.

I'm just like everybody else I need love.....and water.

To work at balls out performance level at all times. It's one of the things my managers at work and my directors in the theatre love about me - I never half ass it.

Hell, I don't even half ass my down time. When I'm off, I'm all the way off. lol

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Everything U Believe is True. That one, for sure.

Agree with Genesia on performance. 110% on every single performance. Even if I don't play my best or hit the wrong note, that kind of energy overcomes any error.

Everything you THINK is true.

What is your interpretation of that? That you can manifest your dreams and turn them into a reality, or the more paranoid interpretation that whatever you´re probably thinking might be true?

I think Prince was probably thinking of the latter at that point in his life but I am not sure.

To make it against all odds. Harmony between different cultures, races, religions and ethnic groups. A very strong work ethic. To be passionate about things.

That it´s ok to follow your own path and not bow down to expectations because of your race or ethnicity or social background.

To look beyond political ideology and see the person first, not the affiliation? I mean he was a little bit of everything.....sometimes liberal, sometimes conservative, often neutral and diplomatic. But mostly openminded. I really liked that about him.

In the book I'm about to release, I took a huge nod from him and Madonna and purposely mixed religion and sex. The book is 12 gay erotica short stories based on my own experiences (enhanced as necessary).

The last story is even about fucking a priest. In real life ....well, I won't give away what is real and what is enhanced. But there is a lot of religious Easter eggs throughout the book. Sprinklings of sex and spirituality as one. I've even taken a couple of Prince lines or lyrics and rephrased enough to avoid copyright but enough a Prince fan might pick up on it.

The book is even styled and designed on the cover as a church hymnal, the stories are simply named for the men in them, and every name (not their real name of course) is a biblical name.

That's the latest example.
