He was so cute on New Girl. I wish he would have done more acting, but music was his thang.

I've never seen that show. Not even when Prince was on it.

Prince's apparent disdain for everything and anything Kardashian gets him an entirely new level of respect from me.
As diplomatic as he tried to be about various issues, he simply couldn't hide or abide this "phenomenon" that is the Kardashian clan. From his kicking Kim off the stage and slyly stating "only in America" in response to the fact that the woman is famous for doing nothing, just as she did did on that stage, to literally demanding that they not be in any way attached to the episode he was doing, is what is needed in massive doses as it relates to today's pop culture and what people are "famous" for.

I haven't watched New Girl, but Zooey's grown on me from seeing other stuff.

. Yea, I never watched it either, or even knew PRINCE did an episode, until later on!! "With love, honor, and respect for every living thing in the universe, separation ceases, and we all become one being, singing one song." - Prince Roger Nelson (1958-2016)

. I concur! When he said that about Kim, I was like FUK YEAH!! . Me and Prince would get along great -- we think alike!

Yeah, I was glad to see at least he was willing to call them out. Everytime I listen to "Clouds", I can't help but think that song was written with them in mind.

Totally adore him in that episode and Tv critics actually really liked his appearance (some even more than the episode itself). The Entertainment Weekly critic called his work "deliciously understated". I found him to be warm, quirky, dryly-funny, and almost innocent. I rather watch this 8 minutes of work than all of the brooding aloofness/false melodrama he had with Apollonia in PR. But of course, nothing tops that stunning BEautiful Ones musical performance in PR.

I loved the last scene too when he and CeCe were playing ping pong and he got mad and threw the paddle down on the table and as he marched off,the butterfly followed behind him.

Is it really a reveal that he loved New Girl, though? It's the only scripted television show he ever did. Clearly, he loved that show.
I wasn't a fan of the show at all, though, until I watched his episode.
It's his appearance on New Girl that makes me wish he hadn't been so guarded and private, and such a non-participant when it came to anything like TV appearances and such. He was so good at everything, just a natural all around. There are sides of him that no one knew about, and one of the most important ones was how funny he was. I mean, as fans, we knew he was hilarious. But he never really shared that with the whole world, and when he did, it just didn't translate well. But this episode of New Girl did translate very well. It's too bad he was gone so soon after. I would have loved to see him make cameos in movies and such.

That was the only time I ever watched the show was when he was on it. So cute and wished he had done more acting but as someone has already said, music was his #1. Love is God, God is love, girls and boys love God above~

You should probably include 'The Muppets Tonight' in that category too, but the rest of your point still stands.
That was another time where he came across as very human and aproachable to a wider audience and not appearing to take himself too seriously. That was particularly needed at that time due to the 'Slave' & 'Artist' confusions among the general public.
