i agree, especially the "Never" parts he repeated before saying "you can be with him if you want to,you know what? it's cool" The Montreoux 2013 version he did was really great too.I enjoyed it when he was reinvinting his songs like Never take the place of your man and she's always in my hair

The 2002 Xenophobia slowed down version (I believe the first time it was played in this style) is my favourite.

It has its charm. The same with "Little Red Corvette" at some shows where he chanted "Slow down!" with the audience. I have to think that maybe he took a quiet nod from Jordan Knight's ballad version from 1999. (An album, by the way, that was largely produced by Jam & Lewis, and Robin Thicke, who also co-produced ICNTTPOYM.) People can argue to the contrary, but Jordan had some attention with that cover, and I have to think it stuck somewhere in Prince's noodle. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Yeah, I would have loved it too if he hadn't used the same arrangement as he did on Little Red Corvette...

I liked the slowed down version of LGC but mostly because I never liked the โgo crazy, go go goโ version. And especially never liked horns on the song. Paisley Park is in your heart

LI enjoy the slowed down versions of I could Never Take The Place of Your Man and Let's Go Crazy. He seemed to enjoy playing the songs again instead of just sticking them into some montage.

For me the slowed down version fit in with the rock vibe he was going for at the time. Still itโs the one song of his where I believe nothing tops the original record. Paisley Park is in your heart
