Angie, any confirmation.

So falling in love with a girl called Angie, has this Stones song on my mind and heart recently

Does anybody know if this frequently suggested cover by Prince has ever escaped the vault? It would be another kind of heartbreaking if that song never Shawshanked its way out of the vault and is residing with bootlegers or Morgan Freeman

Prince's time for the Stones (Miss You, Honky Tonk Woman) suggests that could have been a killer track for that sad, mad, bad forlorn Prince to shred some vocals and guitar, or even put some fender rhodes on that piano.

Oh wow, that really would be good, wouldn't it? hmmm

I remember trying to learn to play Angie on the guitar years ago. I wasn't much of a player to start with, but I remain firmly convinced that you need six fingers on each hand to play that song. Not that Prince would've had a problem with that.

And the MUSIC continues...forever...

I have never heard any mention of Prince covering this song.

This is one of the top unheard tracks I’ve always wanted, for years since hearing he did a long cover version of it.

I think keith often has his six string with five strings, and tunes in open chords etc, so there may be hope that you don't need six fingers on at least one hand!

The beauty of a well written song, is you could go for simpler chords and still get a lot of joy from playing and recording for yourself or your friends.

I have always loved this song even before my current infatuation, and I could just see Prince totally slaying this song.

"With no loving in our souls, and no money in our coats, you can't say we're satisfied" I can just see Prince channeling his passion and soul into some of these lines. Sadly i'm thinking about this new person I met, and listening to a song about a bitter sweet relationship breakdown before mine has even had a chance to begin (sigh etc).

Prince's version was rumored to be 19 minutes long. Can you even begin to imagine that solo?!?!?

Holy moly, that would be epic.

Can we make it a priority for Militant or somebody to hit up the NPG trio in the next interview and ask them specifically about this song for two or three questions.

It would be like Michael B "Oh wow, I think I might still have that demo disc in my car" Michael B brings back disc, and it is ripped out of his warm live hand, so we can hear it.

Thanks. I’d read about it being on an early TGE configuration on P Vault but must have missed that 19 mins bit

years ago on amp (I think Liberation/Richard Dower) mentioned this was circulating among some hardcore collectors, I don't know if he was talking about the 19 minute version or the edit tho.

Thanks for that information. I'd like it, but some things just aren't meant to be I guess.

That is an act of thievery I would fully support!! music

Might this solo rival the one on "Just My Imagination" from Paard van Troje? hmmm That is my personal gold standard.

I didn't really like any of his covers. At least the studio versions anyway. I was a bit disappointed he started doing them on his albums. It broke the badge of honour of Prince just making Prince songs. 'One of Us' was ok i suppose. Wasn't from his head though, so loses points.

I think his covers offered an amazing view of what songs he valued and hope they sounded to him.
