Totally reminded me of this:
Genesia,
You MADE my day. I am crying now from laughing so damn hard and almost had a urinary incident!!! From the picture I was thinking it was some type of Black Panther send-up. That was a total surprise. Almost reminded me of the Benny Hill series. I wonder if anyone ever showed that clip to Prince?
Plus the black cover over the TV covered enough so he can hear it.
.
I didn't see anything covering the TV.
When the police first entered Prince's(green bedroom) it was a black cloth covering the screen just enough to hear the sound from it.
"That mountain top situation is not really what it's all cracked up 2 B when was doing the Purple Rain tour had a lot of people who knew 'll never c again @ the concerts.just screamin n places they thought they was suppose 2 scream."
Who gives a sh!t? I dont care if he wore the same underwear for weeks at a time.
he never wore the same underwear twice
I was always under the impression that Prince didn't wear underwear.

We're not talking about what the people who came in and took pictures did. The place was obviously worn out outside of the recording space. The Egg looked dilapidated; the underground garage was a black hole; general fixtures and doors looked grimy and battered; and some of the bathrooms looked iffy. The place was obviously a monster to maintain. He should have sold PP years ago. Then he could have just lived in a big house, with a state-of-the-art recording studio in its grounds.
Glad he didn't because I wasn't able to visit PP before; however, I will be visiting shortly (fingers crossed)
This might be a hard thing to hear...but it really isn't about you.

Okay, thanks!

When the houses in Spain and Turks were photographed, it was by appointment and for a specific purpose. And hotels have people on staff to keep shit clean.
Who did Prince have keeping things neat and tidy for him at Paisley? Have we forgotten the stories that came out about his attempts to do laundry and load a dishwasher back in the day?
Prince never had to take care of himself in any real, day-to-day sense until near the end. It makes a big difference if you have regular staff or - more importantly - a wife around.
What stories about him trying to do domestic things? Please tell me them. I wasnt born until 1988 and didnt grow up listening to him and fell completely in love with him recently. I love hearing about him doing normal things.
What I am about to say is all hearsay that I read on a Prince Facebook page in a comment section:
Prince did have contract housekeeping.
These two individuals were contracted to clean Paisley Park. They had no idea who Prince was. Once they got there and saw all the awards on the wall they had to Google his name.
They said Prince would watch them from behind plants/curtains as they worked.
At one point they went back home to Mexico to visit with family and friends for several weeks.
They were contacted by PP employees asking where they had been and said Prince liked how they cleaned, and he needed them to come back but they said they couldnt until they returned from Mexico.
Eventually they had learned of Prince's passing while still in Mexico.
.
That's a funny story.......Prince hiding behind the plants.
And this is the third story I've heard of him hiding behind curtains kinda like a little kid so I belive this true. Very funny.

Don't forget he was talking about, and had even started, trying to turn Paisley Park into a museum. I believe there were already a few rooms done (with the paint work) as to what the wanted those rooms to be. That could explain why a lot of things were out of place, because he was moving them out of rooms where they were normally kept.
That's a good point. When PP opened as a museum 6 months after his death, I was one of the sceptics thinking it seemed like a cash in and he wouldn't have wanted to live in his own memorium.
But the photos taken by the police on the 21st clearly show that he was creating the rooms that now make up the exibits.
Whether this was Prince seeing the end, or simply a commercial venture remains unknown, but the facts are PP was in transition.
I was there a few weeks ago for the celebration, and during the tour, our tour guide commented that most of the album/era themed rooms that we were seeing had already been prepared as museum space before Prince passed. He then added that the Lovesexy room was the only room that required work before the tours. Even for that room, Prince had already had the artwork (basically wallpaper of photos from that era) printed and delivered to PP, it just hadn't been installed yet at the time of his death, so that was done afteward. With that in mind, it was very likely that PP was in trasition when he passed, and we have no idea what he had planned beyond what's currently set up for the tours.
This is almost too ridiculous to respond too. Mitigating Prince's excessiveness by comparing it to one of the most excessive people on the planet. That's relative in your world, right? Jesus.
No its relative to the World that the BIGGEST Entertainers LIVE in...
If I remember correctly, PP cost around $10 million to build in the late 80s. The buidling and land are definitely worth more now. You also have to take into consideration that Paisley Park is in Chanhassen. That factors in considerably when estimating the value of the complex. If Prince had built Paisley Park in New York or Los Angeles back in the 80s, its current value would be exponentially higher now that it is having been built in the sleepy town of Chanhassen.
definately not a slob...just a bachelor. I'd hate to see the condition my house would be in if I left my boys alone for just a week or two. I'd say PP just needed a woman's touch.

I don't look at those pictures as indicative of how things were kept up at PP because he was in the process of turning it into a museum. It makes perfect sense that things would be all over the place while he was sorting and deciding what to do with "stuff". No doubt things were even messier once LE finished looking through everything.
Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end

I've looked through *all* the photos. I see some mess in unused, upstairs rooms. I see some things that cvould have been discarded (old computers, equipment). The laundry room was also a dressing room, and it was fine. The bedrooms (even the "green room") were clean. A messy makeup table (expected because he didn't have to pick up after himself). Those downstairs rooms are clean. The two kitchens are spotless. That fridge was practically sterile-looking. The entry hall, the studios. The carpets. Light-colored carpets everywhere looked fine.
.
He kept everything, even his cars. We should be glad there's MORE stuff rather than less.
Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.
