. Prince didn't care about the money -- he didn't need it. Sure, he had lavish homes around the world, traveled in style and could afford the best that life has to offer, but after all that success, he stayed a humble man. The bible tells us we should be humble, and this is what Prince practiced his whole life. . You can see by the pictures inside PP, that his most valuable and prized possessions were his guitars and recording equipment, and his music catalog (vault). All the other stuff was just "fill", and really didn't matter to him. . Even his car collection was/is quite modest, imo. . Prince was an old soul, and he just didn't care about that stuff.

I agree 100%. Even when Prince was making tens of millions of dollars a year he was largely just funneling it right back into his music and art. Paisley Park itself was just a DreamStudio to make music 24/7, right?
Sure, he had fine clothes and traveled in style...but for a mega pop star his homes and cars were pretty modest.
He didn't really care about it all. In fact, he'd just as much peter around Chanhessen on a bike from Walmart than in his Bentley, which he didn't drive much from appearances, LOL!!

You've expressed what's called a tautology--saying the same thing twice to the extent that one cancels out the other. Of course, he wouldn't care about money if he didn't need it. Now goes ask someone who does need money what they think about it. I'm sure it plays a very important role.

You might not care how the masses perceived him but the same can't be said of Prince. He cared a lot. How is it you refuse to see this obvious point?

Well, why try to ascribe all these other different reasons for the disarray if that the drug abuse may have been the main one. There is some middle ground between beating the dead horse and avoiding the elephant in the room.

. What the hell are you on? . What's wrong with saying Prince didn't care about money -- he didn't need it? It's the truth. .

It is completely unreasonable to think he could manage that place by himself. He needed help. It doesn't seem that there were any housekeeping staff around. A huge place like that needs an army to take care of it.

The artist Peyton Russell also said he would stand behind the plants and watch him. If anyone else were to do this I would say creepy, but with him it is endearing

From what I read about people who worked for Prince is that it took a while for Prince to warm up to people and feel he could trust them. I can't blame him for that.

Yes, now that's it. It's the love of money that will bring you down, not just having alot. He probably just really loved having his own, private studios to create music in. The rest being just fluff... Good morning children...take a look out your window, the world is falling...

gandorb said: I am surprised no one mentioned here the potential impact of his drug use. This eventually takes a toll in keeping up with the details behind the scenes, even though he could do so publicly. I was thinking the same thing. Plus if he was battling depression you can see how he would care little about how fung shui his living space would be. His green room seemed like just his private space to lay his head. It looks a bit isolated and I imagine reflective of his headspace at the time.

His personal living quaters "Green Room" is very modest. He probably did not spend very much time there. There is an extra bed; probably for guests? A very small bathroom and shower area--nothing fancy at all. In his room is a TV, small CD player; just basic things. There is a lounge area with a chair and sofa before you enter the green room. Very simple.

Plus the black cover over the TV covered enough so he can hear it. "That mountain top situation is not really what it's all cracked up 2 B when was doing the Purple Rain tour had a lot of people who knew 'll never c again @ the concerts.just screamin n places they thought they was suppose 2 scream."
