No, Prince wasn't a "slob"!!!! It's funny reading all the comments regarding the Paisley Park police photos at what a messy "slob" Prince was.
I don't see a messy slob at all!
Sure, he's comfortable with a bit of chaos and disorganization - the piles of recordings, tapes, books, the unpacked suit cases, etc. - but what I see instead is the private quarters of somehow who was a workaholic and who traveled A LOT.
Truthfully, I am a pretty neat guy but when I travel for work my hotel room after just a day to two looks like Prince's green bedroom... Clothes laying about, some toiletries lying around, a bit of random flotsam and jetsum strewn aobut, etc.

Prince actually lived there but it looks like was he being busy moving out to a smaller house. (I miss cabinets , lockers and side tables. ) [Edited 4/25/18 11:14am]

One could also say he wasn't big on private luxury. His living quartes look pretty humble. Like the home of someone who's main interest is work. The wooh is on the one!

Some of the stuff was pulled out to photograph by police. It was just a bit chaotic, you know untidy but not grimy. Baby, you're a star.

I agree, but his houses like the one in Spain and the one in Turks were luxurious. He stayed in the best hotels. During the Earth tour he stayed at the Dorchester which is one of the top hotels you will find. Baby, you're a star.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Don't forget, PP was ransacked after Prince passed away. . From what I saw, all his living areas and the business office seemed very neat and tidy. . Prince did not have a large staff anymore. It appears in some of the rooms that they were trying to clean out some rooms and get things organized.

True. Also, constant travel creates a life of organized chaos. Didn’t Prince move into Paisley Park fairly recently?

We're not talking about what the people who came in and took pictures did. The place was obviously worn out outside of the recording space. The Egg looked dilapidated; the underground garage was a black hole; general fixtures and doors looked grimy and battered; and some of the bathrooms looked iffy. The place was obviously a monster to maintain. He should have sold PP years ago. Then he could have just lived in a big house, with a state-of-the-art recording studio in its grounds.

Andre said when they were kids that Prince was tidy, always folding his clothes and having a tidy room. I thought he kept a housekeeper right till the end, maybe not. How could one person keep that huge compound spotless? Not easy. Possessed: the Rise & Fall of Prince
Chapter 1 HOME p 10-11 Prince's friend and surrogate brother, Andre Anderson, was also musically inclined, and the 2 began to jam together regularly in his mother's basement. Upstairs, Prince shared a bedroom with Anderson. Despite being good friends, they were poor roommates; Anderson's side of the room was cluttered and disorganized, while Prince's was as meticulously ordered as a Marine barrack. Although he no longer lived with his father, Nelson's disciplined approach to life remained a significant influence on Prince, who sought greater order and privacy by moving into the basement... I had originally posted something about the cleanliness of PP but I felt bad about it so I deleted my thread. It was sad to see. And I wanted to be judgemental about it at first, because it was like "Really, Prince?" but then I thought about my own apartments and living spaces in my own life and they weren't always spotless either. Actually, they rarely were. Even with the nice home that I own now, things do get out of disarray from time to time. And PP was obviously gigantic, so yes, that would have been a lot to keep up with, especially from someone so dedicated to his work. . . . I wanted to judge, but have since regretted that, and now I just feel bad for the guy.

Im sure at times that place was hemorrhaging money, but i think giving it up would be to accept defeat and he wasnt going to do that. PP was a beacon of his success and a part of his whole persona the way Gracelamd was to Elvis. I think he prioritised the money and changing door knobs and updating bathrooms were at the bottom of the list. The studios is where the magic happened and maybe thats where the money went. His real bedroom was modest. Looked a little disheveled but clean. What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

My grandmother used to tell me that if she passed at home to make sure and come in before the medics/police to ensure:
She went into an assisted living facility at 95 and passed at 98. I saw her that morning before she had the stroke in the afternoon and as always, she was dressed to the nines. Style is the second cousin to class

Comparing Prince to your life, or anyone on this forum, doesn't help, or mean anything, because it's not comparing like with like.

Come on. He was much more of a slob behind the scene than any of us realised and I quite like it. Did you see the colour of some of the toilets? If I'd left mine like that and my mum had found out, she'd have a fit. .

Why the heck was art work sitting on the kitchen/dining room floor for? His living quarters was not clean and it was like there was no upkeep to the building. The cars in the garage, sitting there with dust and crap all over them. It's like he didn't have any pride in PP anymore.

Don't forget he was talking about, and had even started, trying to turn Paisley Park into a museum. I believe there were already a few rooms done (with the paint work) as to what the wanted those rooms to be. That could explain why a lot of things were out of place, because he was moving them out of rooms where they were normally kept.
