Y Should Eye Do That, When Eye Can Do this? yay or nay. Holy shit, this is a banger, his best rap. The shit is clever like the Beasties.
The horns turn my brain to burnt mush. That clever chorus is tart. He learned how to do hip hop this time. Nuclear yay. One of his best newer tunes. All you others say Hell Yea!!

I like that song but for me this is part of the weakest period in Prince's output. That late 90a early 00s sound was very "plastic". I perhaps wrongly call this the Kirky J era. While there are certainly gems during that time I do think that was Prince's creative low point. He turned it around with The Raindbow Children (musically if not lyrically) and got his flow back IMO with 3121 (Musicology was still a bit patchy for me but a good step forward over previous years). A lot of people criticise Prince's 90s Warner Bros albums but I really liked all of them. Emancipation was simply too large and while it had some great great tracks, the production was the first time he felt "plastic". 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

If I didn't say YAY, I would be remiss. Cause tomorrow is taking too long
and yesterday's too far away and the reality that you believe in begins to bind.

Hell YAY...ive BEEN carrying the flag for this joint...since day 1...after "U Know", its arguably Prince's best hiphop effort...sick drum programming...some of P's most coherent and well constructed bars as a rapper..."The Slaughterhouse" lp is in my opinion, Prince's most underappreciated album in his entire catalog...

The funky drummer sample (drum-n-bass-lite) was very dated to me, “this drummer wicked” Was also a bit cringey. Would of been much better with a Prince linn drum pattern or even live drums.

- The horn bridge on this was always a favorite little musical moment of mine. I was pleased when this track came out, even though it wasn't on an official release. -MBN

Big yay from me. I was listening to Prince on shuffle after acquiring a large amount of stuff I hadn’t heard. This one stuck out as a solid track. ----------

I would normally consider all the individual elements in Prince's music at that time to be weak, but... .
