High resolution photos of the Vault

And it seems to confirm that the rumor that Prince permanently deleted his vocal tracks from the songs he gave to The Family is bullshit. Since there's Family songs with Prince (M) written on them.

This is mainly the analog tapes,I guess.
Once things went digital, I imagine the storage space would need to be much smaller for those. | |

Whoever mentioned 'time capsule' was right. It's like PP and the The Vault was srtuck in the 90s. It really looks like the Gangster Glam video. Chome fittings, VHS cassettes, v old computers with CRT screens, etc. Takes me back...
If that's what P wanted, then cool. It just feels a bit odd.
I don't think he had the time to think about interior design (obvs), but there's something a bit sad (maybe not the right word) about him being 'stuck' in a time, or an era. It can't have helped as he watched the rest of the world change so much and seem so, so far away from his day-to-day existence in PP.
Anyway back on topic. I hope there a many beta tapes hiding under all those old unreliable VHS cassettes. It's a far, far better source of high quality footage than what collectors are used to working with...

During the 2000 celebration, we were one of the last groups and during the tour the vault was open and people were recording brass/woodwind in studio as well. We couldn't see how wide or deep, but it's exactly how I remember it. Maybe a little brighter. My understanding is that there are other vaults and storage. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
