According to Wendy and Lisa in the Purple Rain special features, the whole Revolution (and the Time?) had to! Lisa even made a joke about "jazz hands!"

In an episode of 'Dance Moms' they had a lady on who claimed to have worked with Prince as a dance teacher. Also, I'm sure that I heard Paula Abdul say one that she trained him too.

I don't think he had much though - alot of what he did was very unrestrained and not the kind of moves that I think dance teachers would propose!

At 4:15, it's pretty obvious these aren't original Prince moves.
You can see he's working his ass off to stay relevant to the young generation: after MC Hammer, everyone had to move like a lunatic.





I think the choreographies in Graffiti Bridge the motion picture ("Thieves In The Temple" in particular) come from an external source (could be Paula Abdul), even if only in part.

there is a story that he came to the set after they had been working on the spotlight dance for hours and he watches them do one run through and got it in one take.

You could well be right - up long enough to push the limited edition for a limited time. That's just curious, though. It feels like a bit of a "Yount!" play, from Pandemonium.

I am devastated they took this down. Maybe the only good PRince thing that happened last month..The announcement of a new Prince CD of vault material and the release of his book coming up before the end of the year were nice things to hear--but I have may reservations about those things and anticipate a degree of disappointment.. The Nothing Compares 2 U stuff was the only tangible good thing. I bet its his family. Sharon tweeted the day of this song's release that it was disrespectful. God Damn that family. A video is disrespectful? Did they not turn on the news that night and see their dead brother again on the floor of his home..

It makes NO sense to remove that video, especially after it was promoted on American Idol last night!
I wonder if that's why it was removed....and maybe it was supposed to be gone on the 29th with the rest of the HitNRun store stuff?
But most of us outsmarted 'em, right?

Song rights?

It just doesn't make any sense that the very day after it got its heaviest promotion to take it down?

It's a mystery the equivalent of many Prince decisions; they're keeping the "legacy" alive.

I don't like it at all that the video was removed from youtube. Why, are they playing with us and our feelings, I am a bit angry! Especially since the timing of releasing the video was so emtional and the content of the video clip so unique. I used to watch the video at least a few times a week the last weeks. It was also a good moment for new people who are not familiair with his music to watch this. What is next, all the offical video's removed as well? I hope this will get better in the future and hopefully I'm just impatient and it will be released on another platform/website. But then again we are waiting for new music already 2 years. If not, this shows no respect for the loyal fans, who will buy the vinyl anyway.

Wow, they just threw away 5 million views. That was the one video that was drawing new people to his music. But you have to admit, it's definitely in the spirit of Prince.

Just went to watch it again and it's gone. I've already preordered the single and wanted to enjoy the rehearsal footage, but I can't. What a ridiculous way to run things.

Yes it is in his spirit. Most of the time I could not follow his commercial decisions. Especially about online content.
