Hey guys --

I'm sure this will have mixed reactions here, but some Funko Pops for Prince have leaked on a pre-order list for Barnes & Noble. It looks like we will be getting a When Doves Cry look, a Purple Rain look and the 2004 Grammys look.

I for one am excited as I collect pops, but... these definitely would not be coming if he were still alive.

Correct. The big head/black eyes look is accurate, but the finished product will be higher quality than these ones.

They exist for prety much every TV show/major movie made now, and there are lots of musicians. KISS, MJ, Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain, Elton John, Motorhead, Run DMC, Tupac, Biggie, etc etc.

These sell in bucketloads there are hundreds of them about all kinds of characters/people.

I don't give a crap about Funko Pops and think they're garbage, but at least I know what they are and that they're popular.

That might be why the Grammys outfit is actually the Super Bowl.

I'll never understand the appeal of those things. Even given one for free, I'd toss it. But to hand over money for one...?

I think they look cool. I've bought a bunch of Doctor Who ones for my 5 year old niece.

I hope this is true. I love toy arts and would love to have one from each Prince era.

I collect various Funko Pops, mostly film characters (but I do have a Jimi Hendrix). I look forward to purchasing these.

Well, there was an order or something way back in April or May of 2016 to try to keep this type of stuff from happening but that got voted out. So I guess until we get actually things by Prince, this kind of stuff will have to do.

Never been much of a crazy fan of Pops, I much prefer to collect Nendoroids but I doubt he will get one of those seen as they are produced in Japan and are mostly of anime characters. I'm more pissed that they had 3 slots and they gave 2 to Purple Rain era versions though. I mean, the When Doves Cry/Purple Rain dolls are going to be the exact same model with just a different body, and half of the figure is taken up by the head anyway. They could of at least given one of the slots to Diamonds and Pearls era or something so there is a 80's, 90's and 00's version to choose from...
