1.

ideal would be: all WB albums released in remastered form with a disc of bonus studio tracks,
and a disc of all the singles/remixes.

2.

also release them as extra deluxe with a show from that era.

3.

release completed albums that have been archived by prince himself. from the first one to the
last one, so wb and everything after.

4.

after that series is done, start putting out all the other stuff, so unreleased tracks that don't
belong to any album or era specifically, so tracks for others, random sketches etc.

5.

while all that is going on, set up a site where live shows are offered for download and for those
who want to, exclusive printed cds of the shows. so this runs alongside all the other projects
mentioned above.

6.

this site can also offer jam sessions, rehearsals or soundchecks of special interest and stuff as
varied as the paisley park jams and the sonny t and michael b jam sessions etc. and naturally,
aftershows.

so until they get these projects on the way, sorting out the logistics of it, the legal aspect of it,
etc etc, it would seem clever to already release one of the 'unreleased projects' that prince had
compiled to a certain degree of completion and filed away. something to keep people happy in
the time it takes to start compiling and rolling out the deluxe remasters on warners.

this is my dream, fcuz. it's highly unlikely i guess. they probably want to stick to 1 release per
year or something marketable like that. neutral

Something totally new and unreleased from the Vault from his golden period in the 80s.

The remasters would be nice but as an extra! We've heard it all before (albeit in lower quality!)

personally, my top 3 releases that i want the most are:

Black Is The New Black

Piano & A Microphone

Welcome 2 America (because i NEED the studio version of the title track)

im not really phased about remasters because i have enough boots to keep me going for days, but his later years seem so mysterious in terms of bootlegs and unreleased trax. so i wanna hear what was happening from like, 2000 onwards and i am obsessed with the live version of W2A i have

eye dont think U heard me . . .

None of that stuff in the OP sounds interesting to me. In particular, I would hate to see his already-published work remastered - just leave it alone I say. What would be interesting is stuff we don't know about already - studio material, unreleased in clear quality. Personally I don't want sessions players brought in to finish stuff off either tbh, just a quick mix of the original raw takes is fine.

i'm also seriously excited we may one day, fifteen years from now, get the 'madrid 2 chicago' album

drool

and yes, 'welcome 2 america' would be another great one to be released. i think the title track might
sound a bit like 'laydown', but a lot slower and more menacing, in it's studio form? perhaps?

i'm equally interested in the post WB stuf and the 80s material. in some ways even more so in the
post 1996 material, since we don't know anything about most of that.

it's unlikely, at least i think it is but who knows, that we'll see a huge amount of totally unknown
music from the 80s since that period is so well documented already and there are already many,
many unreleased tracks from those years in circulation.

so it would be a huge surprise and something extra exciting if they'd discovered like an unknown
(to all of us) album from that period. fingers crossed.

but for now i'll just be realistic and think what they found is blowing their minds but has been on
our drives for more than a decade. that way there will be no disappointement, just gratitude for
finally having whatever it is in better quality than we do now.

and anything extra is grrrrrravy! smile

but when the time comes and some 3rd party buys the rights to release stuff from 1996 onward,
oh boy, hold on 2 ur wigs eek drool guitar tonk

my ranking:

1. Piano & Microphone Live (CD+Video)

this is most relevant bacause it was his last tour and a also avery personal tour. This tour was different compared to what he released before. maybe they can release a concert dvd and add Black is the new Black in the package. Or combine it with his upcoming autobiography.

2. Sign O' The Times Deluxe (Remaster of original album, b-sides, and mastered unreleased songs from the sessions, plus full cocert of the accccompanying tour)

Also very relevant release, because it is his best studio album, some of his beste unreleases songs are from this area, and the sound quality of sott which is released is not that good.

My ranking of Parade Deluxe and 1999 Deluxe are more or less the same

For me it's all about the sonics, and I'd say that 1999 and SOTT equally need a good CD remastering. However, I'd be most excited to see a Piano & a Microphone live album released featuring perhaps the AUS (Vanity tribute) and Atlanta shows. Would also love the Black Album reissue to materialise.

Prince: 1958-infinity. Thank U for everything.
