I made the same observations in a post here back in 1997; got me nothing other than flames from the mods and know-it-all’s.

Was this here in 1997 with mods? I remember the old version of the site. But was that more like 1999? When did this site start?

I joined under my original account in 1998 and things were in full swing then.

I remember reading the Rolling Stone quote, wondering what that song might be. After reading his mention of the song The Divine, in the 2008 USA Today interview, and finding it was recorded back during that time, I wonder if that could've been it.

Nice read. I wonder why Prince always worried that "people weren't ready" for certain songs, projects etc. He seemed to boldly release videos, singles, remixes all the time that diehards might even call brave. Just more of that Prince duality I suppose.

Because most of the world wasn't ready for Prince when he eased onto the scene in the late 70's and exploded in the early to mid 80's. He's still not as revered and certainly not as beloved as he deserves to be.
