Many Prince "fans", and org users are always gripin' about somethin'. Most of them will NEVER be satisfied. I just find it strange that a good number of them actually feel entitled to what Prince has to offer...with or without doing anything (like paying membership fees) to get it.

Just an observation.

And to answer your question, there are some real fans on .org

I don't know if complaining from some fans means they aren't fans.

That's seems to be the new idea across the country, the new mentality. That if you don't like something, you're not a real something, e.i. you protest US wars, you are not a patriot or "outstanding American!".

No, it means that we have high standards, and maybe we'd like something really cool and easy to use that satisfies the fans. Teasing us with Vault stuff all these years and then giving us streams called "CyberStreams", that's sooo...AOLish.

What we've gotten is an online CD-ROM designed like if it was 1995.

My compaint!: That you don't get a preview of these great images and feeling for the site before you join. And I'm not saying we should get this whole access before but maybe little photos or a welcome room rather than a GUARDED with swords GATE!

But that's just my observation.

and the pix the dawn site captured...it's like a total deja vu of that interactive cd-rom from a while back, methinks. it improves on last year's site (that, and it's nice that they have an html site as opposed 2 mainly flash!), but still...lighten up on the graphix just a taste. the hidden effects seem really nice, as well.

And I'm a real fan, I mean...if the definition of real is being alive, being happy in general, and spending money. Sounds like a pretty lame definition of being a fan though.
I just forked over $49.97 for ONA and am generally happy about that. But now I don't have the extra to flush down the mysterious website vortex. I think the site is a very nice effort, it's just not realistic to expect everybody to dive in head-first with a perma-grin, waggling cash at everything Prince offers. Nobody has that kind of following, not even God.
Besides, I've read most of the comments about the new npgmc website so far, and I don't think it's senseless complaining. I think it's more like how kids talk when they buy a new toy, and find that it's pretty much what they expected, but not perfect like they had dreamed.

I think people who are on the org are here because they love the music.

Now if we all sat here and chatted about how much we love the music, we love this we love that - it would pretty boring.

It's much more fun to be analytical of things, and explain why you like something, why you don't like something else - thus we all enter into a more indepth discussion, and keep the flow of the place moving.

Anyone who says "I love everything Prince has ever done in his entire career" is either a bare-face liar, or a complete zombie with no personality whatsoever.
