would you buy a book on handwritten documents by Prince? Would there be a market for an extensive book containing a collection of handwrittings by Prince? Like lyrics, scripts, letters, notes, etc. . would it be: definitely / maybe / never ...

20 notebooks were found. I hope the estate will think about publishing some of them. I also would love it if they put out whatever parts of his autobiography he finished.
So tired of some associates who had little contact with him spouting off.

Does this have to turn into another nasty post? Why can't we just talk about what the OP posted?

Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

The autobiography would be cool, even if it's only 50 pages. Maybe add some photos and it could make for a nice little book. Other than that, no, I gave up buying books about the man. There's just too many and after all, it's the same story over and over again only with more detail. I really don't need to know who Prince's great-great grandfather was or the recording dates of each and every song he ever made. I'm fine with what I have.

But this is asking about handwritten notes by Prince, not an autobiography or such The had written notes and some obscure photos added from the time period a collectors item for me. I want his Memoirs too though.

Nothing nasty about what I posted. Many associates are writting books now and many will in the future and since some were not in his orbit for years some of those books are going to be utter nonsense.
Everyday is not a sunny day and censorship does not change that fact.

Sure! | |

Well the recording dates have shead some light on some misrepresentation by a few associates.

I asked this question since after reading the 5 pages of the Dreams manuscript yesterday on the Amsterdam expo, I was really touched by that. The text was on the one hand rather naive (describing the main character, himself, as 'our hero'), on the other hand showing interesting psychological reflections on how and why the various characters had to be shaped a certain way. (He described Jill as clumsy, and cutting her hair like prince to impress him, after that did not work, she cut her dog's hair that way, LOL!!). Also, an explicit love scene between P and Vanity was described in much detail, including various cinematografic instructions on how the scene should be filmed to obtain the desired (and non X-rated!) effect. . That text gave me a really beautiful view inside the head of 'our hero'... and that's why a book of more unknown handwritings would be very welcome for me

Yes, I would eagerly buy such a book.

I love that 'behind the scenes stuff' just reading the basic pre-Apollonia script with all the character issues fills in so much of the movie. I think of this like having Michaelangelos sketches and written thoughts on that ancient paper

it all depends... what is the content? I'd like something that sheds some light on his life or work process... something tangible. I am not that interested in pages of esoteric mysticism like the precursor to what turned into Grafitti Bridge. . And I don't care about the hand-written part either. I'm ok with it all being scanned and taken through OCR and spell-checked.

Ridculous. Leave his work as it is.

Yes, I would buy this book. Getting to know more about the man that made MTV want it was back then

After buying books by an ex wife, Paisley Park, former photographers and researchers - who never ever met Prince or knew him personally...I would definitely buy a book on handwritten documents by Prince without thinking about it twice.

I find it telling that the person you were probably talking about wasn't even called out by name, but still responded defending herself. . I would definitely buy the book. I would just hope they wouldn't release something that was too personal, like the notes and letters. TRUE BLUE

Definitely. I’m sure he kept a diary. Would love different volumes of his personal journals over the years. "I want to be the only one you come for...."
