Combine that with the payments to the Vanity/Apollonia 6 members, and I wonder- is it possible that Prince was looking for more research material for the PR Remastered project? Was he looking to get the women paid off so that the App6 tracks could be released as a part of the project?

No. None of that was ever part of the 2014 deal, which is what was released. The bonus disks are what the estate tacked on after he died.
