No mainstream music listener would answer Prince...
Elvis was a great rocker - surely the best - from 1956 to 58 and then a great cheesy mainstream pop singer, he was the Celine Dion of his era

Elvis isn't a musician Prince is, so this makes him able 2 control everythin, he writes songs and knows what 2 expect of them, like what hes capable of and thus what style 2 sing in.

They are TOTALLY different styles of singers... You can't compare them, but a duet would be too funky!
Personally . I think we are all Boring with No Lives cause all we do is talk about Prince,Criticize and Gossip. I need a Horny Man is what I Need and probably so do most of yas. We are Sexually Frustrated what we R... Amen..!!! - zelaire

I don't much care for Elvis (Presley?) music. He's no King of Rock'n'Roll in my opinion.
I like Prince's vocals. His voice fits what he writes, his styles and the image(s) he's explored. His falsetto is best.

However I like many other male vocalists over Prince's voice when it comes to his lower register. He's no Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis, Donny Hathaway, David Ruffin, Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, or Stevie Wonder.

elvis' voice was at it's peak around 68-73 i believe.
listen 2 him singing AmericanTrilogy at the MSG gig of 72 & tell me he wasnt great!

however P's voice has never faded really.
but with E,he of course had his low moments & one bootleg gig (soundboard) i have from late 74,he just wasnt hittin it.
i think he was starting 2 go thru a rough, complicated time in his life & he really just didnt sound like he wanted 2 per4m on this night.

i would say Elvis when he was at his peak.
but prince 4 just lasting & keeping his voice in fine tip-top shape.

both legends 2 me.

btw,MJ is in my top3 with EP & P.
but Elvis & P r better singers live.
MJ is awesome live still, but doesnt sound as smooth & perfect as Presley & Nelson
