he wasn't a nice guy in those early years, one of the things i enjoy most with his passing is all the stories about how he mellowed. I mean, i understand why he was like that, he had it tough and when you come from that it can make you into a real bastard but personally, i never liked when people are cruel to others just because they can be and he was, many times.

some of it is understandable because if people are small minded and can't see but so far and you can see so much farther than them, they got to go, those are tough decisions and he had an easy time making them. the docu i mentioned is called prince unauthorized and i'm watching it on yt right now.

Please explain how he was cruel to people. The music business is tough and if was not tough he would have been eaten alive.

A lot of the associates cry too much and take no responsibility for there own actions. I by no means think Prince was a saint but I doubt he was cruel to anyone and people were free to leave.

where would I begin? from the first bio, chazz said that he let Prince borrow his drum set and never got it back with Prince saying "i'm a star now i don't have to do anything". How about his kicking brown mark in front of thousands of fans for breaking a bass string, come on laura, we been here before, you're veering off into our old days of me saying "he could piss on my head and you'd defend him".

Sorry I never said he was a saint. Saying he was cruel is like saying he was out killing animals for something. We know he had his good days and he had his bad days like anybody else. He also did a hell of a lot of good for a whole hell of a lot of people. He says he died we have her more about the good and the bad which makes me think that most of the bad has probably been exaggerating slightly. Some of those people are probably not so innocent themselves. Also many of his associates such as Brown Mark have a tendency to not take any responsibility for their behavior. If someone were to kick me in front of thousands of people I would’ve got up and knock that shit out them. Then walk away and get away with it speaks volumes about his foolishness. I am pretty sure it since Charles has been talking to various members of the media for the last 40 years he has made more than enough money to pay for that drum kit. Which I believe was actually stolen from the rehearsal area not exactly Prince’s fault but if Charles felt they were his fault he could’ve easily as soon him to recover the cost of the drums rather than bitch about it for fourty years. We don’t know what trolls is relationship with prince was like I suspect this is he a minute they really had spoken since 1985 but it was not good. After all he did say to growing up is to call him because Gizoo because he had a big head and thought he knew everything.

million things he did, i don't have time to go through all of them. Cruel is an apt word for many of the things he did. mental games he played etc.., he did a lot of good, had a nice conservative nature behind closed doors and out of the spotlight, susan rogers said she jumped all over him and his response was to just go back to work when she calmed down, doesn't sound like a tyrant in that case. made a lot of money for a lot of other people other than himself and never gloated over it, took his responsibility as a breadwinner more seriously than he probably should have, fuck, you don't owe people jobs but he felt he did. they say chazz and he patched it up at some point, i don't really know, and that he worked for prince for awhile. and his story was from the late seventies, prince didn't have his own kit yet, those kinds of stories are all over the place, so even if chazz was full of shit, not everyone was.

Everyone does have a right to tell their story. I'm tired of trying to keep up with all the books, I'm booked out and $$ out. And where did I say they didn't have a right to tell their story??

Yea! A dig that says I don't feel you're worth mentioning or acknowledging anymore.

Prince actually cares for this fella. He just became tired of the chaos that was happening at the time. Mr. Husney knows that. Prince has wished him well. Period. Take care Mr. Husney.--

Wished him well with what?

He has a right to say what he wants. It does not mean telling tall tales is okay so he can make a quick buck. Do you think he is going to admit that he did not believe Prince was going to make it as a artist? In addtion, it was Chris Moon who discovered Prince not Owen. So the title of the book is a damm lie. biggrin

*I am ‘booked out’ too, and ‘purple outer circle out’
I want a book from Tyka, but it needs factual documentation. Period.
I would also (at this point) only purchase one from Kirk, but he will never ever write one.

Yes, Tyka's book would be a must for me to read. Kirk's would be interesting.

Y'all are knocking this shit like a bunch of six graders but Husney is one of the few that can provide first hand account info on 76-78. I'll cop.

you really think he didn't say what he wanted to say when he was alive? I don't think he wanted the contents of the vault blocked, why even make the music? but I think he said his piece. I'm looking forward like everyone to the vault, no telling what's in there, could be geraldo's equivalent of capone's safe or it could be something resembling true buried treasure. I'm sure prince won't dissapoint.

i wonder if the vault is like the glowing briefcase in "pulp fiction" the glow of it lit up their faces

because it contained a soul.

well, for a fanatic, like me, it'll be great, all of it. I'm a guy who loved watching elvis' final concerts and could find greatness in them when everyone else complained though.
