The Simpsons/Predictions

There have been articles today about "The Simpsons" predictions of the US Olympic Curling team winning gold and other predicitions they have been correct about.

https://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2018/2/25/17051194/6-times-the-simpsons-perfectly-sports

This just doesn't sit well with me when they aired an episode where Prince is killed for use of his music. If they have been right about all the other predictions.....what about this one?

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Too many hoaxes have been tied to these "predictions".

I wonder if they have an episode where they predict when The Simpsons will be funny again? BAZINGA!

I agree, it stoppedbeing funny in 1996. They need to retire that Turkey, how can it be that Bart is still 10 and Lisa 8, when the show in 28½ years since Fox started full length episodes and 31 years since its Tracy Ullman debut.

.

Same with Family Guy - watched a recent DVD and found it was just violence and a few belly laughs. Both of these turkeys should have been put out to trot a long time ago. Seth MacFarlane its not 2006 anymore. Matt Groening its not 1993.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Anyone that can use his music or likeness now. While he was here, he could put a stop to certain things. WB still owns his early music. Any releases they do ie..PR deluxe they make money off of. A

Are you trolling or just truly clueless?

No, not just anyone can use his music. People can use a photo of him if they license it from the photographer, or own the photograph outright, or if it's other available to use (like critiques, discussion, etc.). He tried to put a stop to things, never worked 100% of the time.

No, Warner doesn't own his music. Use Google Search on the site and learn. He owned his music before he died.

Someone has to make money on it. No one is going to print & distribute CDs for free. That is a fantasy, not reality. Y'all act like it's bad if someone makes a buck. Dis a bid'ness, and you ain't too far gone to see that yet.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Please refrain from posting on the internet ever again. Not just the Org but also Facebook or any other site or social network.

In fact, don't either read anything ever again on the internet.

Just... cancel your internet subscibtion. On the phone, too.

The internet is bad for you, and in turns it makes you bad for the internet.

I'm sure you're a really nice person in real life. So just enjoy that: real life.

Just don't go online. Ever. Again.

Prince regained ownership of his catalog in the US only. WB still retained ownership of the catalog for the rest of the world. Also he would have to wait for each copyright to be eligible for termination before gaining ownership of it.

Um, that's the beauty of animation - no one needs to grow up or get old!

Family Guy has slightly, in 1999 Meg was 16, Chris was 13 and Stewie a few months, by 2016 they are 18, 15 and 2.

.

Peter and Lois's date of birth has moved forward, in 1999/2000 they were born around 1955 and were adults in the hippy era, by the 2015 episode on him finding his porn collection, he is in his mid teens in the late 1980s putting his date of birth in around 1972/75. In a 2001 episode he is shown as an 18 year old in 1984, making his date of birth in the 1966 era and in the same era, he is also shown as a grown adult in 1977 in the episode about the Clam being sold to Nigel Pinchley.

.

Same with the Simpsons, Homer and Marge were both born around 1952/55 by 1991, he is born in 1956 as he was a senior in 1974. In the early episodes, and Bart was born in 1980, Lisa 1983 and Maggie in 1988. By 2005 with the Sadgasm episode, Homer is in his early 20s around 1993, making his date of birth around 1970, in a Springfield +7 episode of 2000s date, Homer is seen as a 7 year old in 1971 and in another one showing his life in photos, Teenage Homer is shown as a fan of Happy Days and the Fonz around 1975 and then Kiss around 2 years later.

.

In another 2000ish episode, Homer is a little child in 1969, when some hippies find an old mural of him as child at their farm. Basically what I am saying is the birthdates of characters in cartoons are never consistent and move around all the time. Take Monty Burns, some episodes alliude to him being around 85 and born in the 1920s, but an episode about Larry Burns shows he was born in 1892 (47 in 1939) and his mother was still alive (Making her at least 130 and born before 1872). Yet in an older episode in 1993 (Rosebud) Burns is a young boy in the 1920s.

.

It is confusing.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name
