I don’t want to leave you ... by the Time I just imagine prince sees us fans as another one of his women he needs to let down easy before his body breaks down and dies ... so he plans his farewell says his goodbyes without actually saying goodbye .. all along thinking “i don’t want to leave you” but he knows it’s time to go ... Not reduced to tears but I seem to imagine prince playing this song on piano as his spirit drifts away from us all ... sort of waving goodbye with this song

The last time I cried unexpectedly was when I saw his 2014 touring clothes at the prince exhibition in my mind i could still see him in front of me wearing the jacket - for me his music hasnt made me cry (since the immediate months) it was being in close proximity to his 'looks' the things that are so heavily etched into my mind, the visual experience of a concert, being at the front and him being so alive and joyful. i would never have expected that.

It was two extremely different tracks at different times....a few days after he passed, I was listening to Extralovable (like usual, as it was the song that kicked my passion for his unreleased music into gear in the early 90's) but yet it sounded so different, certain notes he hit suddenly stuck me in a way as incredibly moving and sad...divorced from the lyrics, the melody is actually quite touching. The other track that floored me (sometime last year) was the rehearsal from 82/83 of the gospel song Mary Don't U Weep....that was somewhat less unexpected, but it is a track that totally made me weep like CRAZY...

I agree with you completely. Prince was on fire that night. He sang and played like a man possessed and seemed so happy to be there. He was so playful and had the swagger of a man who knew he was on top form and had an audience eating out of his hand.

The unreleased MaStErPiEcE!! "Love(Never Has 2 Say Goodbye)". Prince was SO unmatched with his ballads & vocal layering the melody reduced me to COMPLETE tears. "That mountain top situation is not really what it's all cracked up 2 B when was doing the Purple Rain tour had a lot of people who knew 'll never c again @ the concerts.just screamin n places they thought they was suppose 2 scream."

Jughead takes such a beating for reasons I don't get. Lyrics and rapping I guess, but It's not even close to his worst song ever and if it was an instrumental I think it would really work and more fans would like it. The funk groove itself is fine.

Reasons you don't get? I think you've hit the nail on the head, to be honest. The banal lyrics and, let's be honest, awful rapping are exactly why Jughead is hated by many fans. Perhaps it would work better as an instrumental but as it is, it's really bad. Not his worst, but definitely ONE of his worst.

I’m not sure that a Prince song has ever reduced me to tears; it takes A LOT to make me sad enough to cry. But I think I have shed a tear or two when listening to Until U’re in My Arms Again and Comeback. I can’t remember exactly, but I may have shed a tear when I saw The Revolution last April, during Wendy and Lisa’s performance of Sometimes It Snows in April. Peach from the 2009 Montreux show. I pictured the video of that performance and the image of him so vibrant, happy and full of life hit me pretty hard.

"Sometimes it snows in April" makes me cry every time so that isn't unexpected. The one that made me cry unexpectedly is when I heard the full length version of "17 days". After 30+ years of loving the song and years of hearing rumors about the long version, I was just so overwhelmed with emotion hearing it in its full length glory I just couldn't hold it back. I know that sounds incredibly crazy. Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

Not a Prince song, but when he performed David Bowie's "Heroes" in Atlanta, on April 14, 2016. I just cried. It was beautiful.
