Prince mentioned by Van Jones on Watch What Happens Live

Andy Cohen had Brooke Shields and Van Jones on his late night talk show Watch What Happens Live! tonight. There were some MJ questions asked to Brooke. Andy then ask Van, "What is your favorite memory of your time with Prince?"

He responded:

"So many, but I think he cared about people when they were down. He was the worst best friend you could have. When things went well for you, he wouldn't call, there are no congratulations. When things went bad, he was right there. So for me, my best memories of him are like some of my worst times in life. He'd just show up like Batman. You'd look up and he was there. And I love him and I miss him."

You can probably check WWHL's YouTube later tonight, or tomorrow and they might put the clip up. The show is available on the Bravo app on your streaming device (probably tomorrow), and mostly likely onDemand w/ your cable provider.

PS There is always an after show, which lasts about 10 minutes at most. You can find it on the YT channel tomorrow. I don't think it's on the Bravo app on streaming devices (but I could be wrong - don't think I am, though).

Without meaning to sound harsh, the way he carries on you'd think he was one of Prince's ex-wives. Wasn't he just a charity guy hanging around for the last few years? What am I missing?

I want one of those inteviews where theyre2 talking of Amadeus and then go "and whats your favourite Prince memory.

Watched an interview with Andi Allo on Youtube and again MJ was conflated with Prince. To be fair i think she struggled with it. However if it was me I'd just sit in silence til the next question.

There were a lot of people questioning the validity of Van's relationship with Prince after Prince died and Van was so outspoken about their friendship. I would venture to say that Van has only doubled down on everything he said then. And I more often than not see Van in a purple tie or something that honors Prince. (9.5 times out of ten those political guys wear either a blue tie or red tie. NO OTHER VARIATION. Except Van.)

Youre missing the fact that Prince and Van worked on a lot of projects together...secretly without fan fare

You are missing the fact that Van had a personal relationship with Prince therefor understand him on a level many of us never will, ther for his LOVE for Prince is deep and heartfelt

You are missing the fact that Van never misses an opportunity to spread Purple Love and is rarely seen wearing any other colored tie but a Purple one

You are missing that Van is carrying on Princes Love4oneanother Legacy in Deed rather than word

You miss a lot around here actually Pricetag

One thing I didn’t miss: “never misses an opportunity to spread the purple love”. Now that makes a lot of sense. I just alerted the #metoo movement.

The interview with Andy was done before he passed but I got the feeling she didn't know quite how to reply to that statement either.I think the guy interviewing her thought that calling Prince the mini MJ was a compliment for some reason.

Saw the show last nite. It was a very good episode. It was fun and entertaining, and touching, too— Van Jones talked about Prince as mentioned above while Brooke Shields talks about how she misses MJ to Paris Jackson when they saw each other recently.
"I want to be the only one you come for...."

No doubt. It's just that, with each passing year, his "Prince was..." schtick gets more pompous and arrogant. Is he going to repeat his "people didn't know how generous Prince was" line for the rest of his life? The man's tiring me out.

He is a bit repetitive but I think he just wants the uninformed public to know who Prince really was and I appreciate him for trying to do that. smile

lol I thought it was nice what he said about Prince being the kind of friend who was there when you were down.A lot of people are the opposite. Comparing him to Batman was a bit funny. He said that on the BBC Documentary as well.

Jimmy Fallon marvels at the time he played ping pong with Prince too. Told that story on his nationally syndicated talk show. Apparently, Prince just upped and left after the game. Yes, you heard me, upped and left!! It's a crazy world we live in, folks.
