I know. He said something like that too But I remember Dr Fink saying something about 4 albums, it might have been around the 1990 period

It has never not grown on me, first hearing boots of it and then the version on PR Deluxe, it is a classic, the singing and the synth lines. I am definitely a bigger fan of Roadhouse Garden - Prince's singing "This is a garden where we used to play, open the door come inside", weird spaced out hippie feel is great, I get imaginations of an Ice Cream Castles type scene, a car dribing to a bizarre castle like folly in the middle of nowhere and everyone gets out of the car wearing really cool and over the top mid 80s clothes ala Revolution the Time. . Also as it reminds me of a real life Ice Cream Castle near my home - a place called Maungatawhiri (Windy mountain in Maori) and it was a cafe with fake turrets and crenellations on the road to the Coromandel (Big beach and bush walk area 120km east of Auckland, where I live). In the 90s it was an awesome cafe, by the 2000s, it was taken over by a vegan hippie commune and it served macrobiotic vegan food only, and no one went. About 2010 it shut down and now its a decaying ruin - It's a roadhouse garden that evokes the past like the song. Even weirder is across the road is a place selling garden statues and shit like cupids and gnomes. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I always hear a connection between the opening orchestral chords with the fading chords from the end of Purple Rain. [Edited 7/11/20 21:38pm]

Da Fuk, that shit just looks so wrong and has a 2010s Emoji/Snapchat social media era feel about it. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

it looks like paintings by Margaret Keane, who incidently also became a JW later in life. She was famous in the 50's through 70's

Our Destiny is a great track and deserved to be on an album imo. Roadhouse Garden much less so, nothing much going on and too repetitive. I like it cause i'm a fan, but i doubt that any non-Prince-fan would think much about it. To name an album after this song would be over the top. [Edited 2/28/18 4:39am]

Agreed. I'm actually surprised by how many people seem to dig the studio version of "Roadhouse Garden" more than "Our Destiny". The live version of RG was funkier and had a lot more going for it, but its studio counterpart is minimalistic and subdued to the point of being... kinda forgettable.

It's more accessible to the average listener. OD is much, much more interesting but at the same time much, much more challenging, I'm not surprised most people don't "get it". A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

A la the big-eyed children paintings of the 1960s... "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

I like Our Destiny and it's inclusion on the PR edition (Even if it was written later. It still fits OK) . Roadhouse Garden I like less, as it sounds like a basic, work in progress for Paisley Park, and more clearly shouldn't have been included in the set.

Thanks, this all makes me more curious to what this pre-ATWIAD album might have looked and felt like
