Who did the turntable scratching for some of Prince's 90's songs? Some of Prince's songs in the 1990's feature turntable scratching (you can hear some in "Tick, Tick, Bang" and "The Continental", to name a couple.) I'm wondering who did the scratching in these songs. Was it Prince or somebody else? | |

They were always listed in the credits. I remember Brother Jules on one track. I hated the scratches more than I hated Tony M. The Continental was so cool back then, I still love his vox on it, but those scratches are so dated. | |

The scratching always sounded so inauthentic, forced, almost like a Sound effect rather that an organic part of the song. I wish u heaven | |

what was the final song that had scratching on? Is there scratching on Rave? or The Rainbow Children?
Another thing I can't stand, a stuck on effect, which Prince liked to use, was hitting the fzz bass for one beat in a bar.
It's all over the Rainbow Children, Rhonda Smith, even Larry did this alot. Can't stand it, it's so annoying how overused it was. | |

Generally speaking, I always like the scratching in the live setting. For example, on C-NOTE, it’s really good and adds some nice flavor. IIRC, there’s a version of sign o the Times at the London Marquee in 2002 that has a lot of scratching and great guitar work. That was awesome. "Love & honesty, peace & harmony" | |
